They have spent the past month working in the ADA Washington, D.C. office, exploring congressional lobbying on behalf of dental students and health policy research. Danielle Marciniak, Roseman '18 (left), and Minh Phi, Roseman '18, are past the halfway point of their four-week Chicago administrative externship in ASDA's central office. They have been working in each department, taking on a variety of tasks to better understand what makes ASDA run, as well as meeting with representatives of related dental organizations located in Chicago. ASDA News Summer Mouth Upcoming Events This year, the externs took over ASDA's official Instagram account, sharing their work experiences and their adventures as tourists in their respective cities. See what they've been up to - and if you like what you see, plan on applying for one of the 2016 extern positions. Applications will open in October. Update Your Address Quick Links Dentists serve as role models and team leaders in their offices, communities and organizations. In addition to dental techniques, you need to develop strong management skills, public speaking ability and financial know-how. You can work on these skills at the National Leadership Conference, open to all members of ASDA. Predoctoral members can register through group registration with their chapter or individually. Predental members can choose to attend the entire meeting or choose a daily package. Pankey Dental Foundation is currently accepting applications for five new merit-based scholarships for dental students. Awarded on the basis of commitment to lifelong learning, leadership potential and participation in community service, each of the scholarships funds participation in the Pankey Institute's Essentials One curriculum. Applications are due on August 15, 2015, and can be accessed on the Foundation's website. FREE Registration for ADA 2015 - America's Dental Meeting Registration is now open for ADA 2015 - America's Dental Meeting in Washington, D.C., November 5-10.
