Description of Garment: Red ski jacket Manufacturer: U.S. Polo Association RN#: 110078 Care Label Instructions: Machine wash or may be drycleaned Problem: The fabric is backed with a resinous membrane that is meant to impart water repellency to the jacket. When this jacket was drycleaned in perchloroethylene, the backing became brittle and separated from the face fabric, causing the face fabric to blister. Responsibility: The manufacturer. This jacket failed when drycleaned in perchloroethylene. Drycleaner: Discuss the above-mentioned problem with the customer. we have no data concerning the serviceability of this jacket in alternate solvents or when wetcleaned. Because of the potential serviceability issue concerning this garment, we suggest that a signed release of liability be obtained prior to accepting it for processing.
