Francis @Pontifex In this age
lacking in social friendship, our first task is
that of building community.
Pope
The Catholic Community of St. Peter
extends its sympathy to the family and
friends of Lucille Gannon and Garneth
Diefenbacher. May they find comfort
and healing that their loved one is now with God.
St. Peter Parish
has sponsorship opportunities for
their bulletin.
Why Advertise in a Church Bulletin?
 Advertising on the Weekly Parish Bulletin is one of the best
returns for your advertising dollar.
 The advertising expense is tax deductible.
 It is localized advertising; it’s in the area that you serve.
 Advertising helps promote your business throughout the
community and with your fellow parishioners.
 The bulletin gives excellent exposure to the business person
because it’s reaching more clients.
 Parishioners feel secure dealing with bulletin sponsors.
THE PARISH AND THE BUSINESSES BOTH BENEFIT.
If you do not have a business, but personally know of someone who does, please help the Parish by referring that
person or business, or you can occupy a space by becoming a donor.
A Representative from Diocesan Publications will be contacting potential advertisers of local businesses as well
as professional people in the area within the next few weeks. Thank you for your interest and response.

ELEVENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
CHURCH AT HOME COLLECTION – Thank you for your
generous support last weekend of the Diocese of Youngstown
CHURCH AT HOME combined collection which supports the
Catholic Campaign for Human Development, the Catholic
Communication Campaign and the educational ministries of the
Catholic University of America and Newman Campus Ministries.
If you were unable to give last weekend, please consider giving at
your parish today for this important collection.
STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT: “When I entered your
house, you did not give me water for my feet…” LUKE
7:44. Today’s Gospel calls us to consider how we serve
God. Do we consume like the Pharisee who simply
reclines at the table and expects to be served? Or, do we
contribute like the woman who kneels before Jesus and
washes His feet? Every day we must make a choice. Take
or give? Consume or contribute? Recline or serve?
Bishops Appeal for Catholic Charities We remind you
of the campaign for Catholic Charities is still in process. If
you have not yet donated, please drop your donation in the
collection basket or mail it to the attention of Fr. Beneleit.
Presently our parish is at $59,583.00 of our goal of
$66,428.00. We are almost there! Thank you to all who
have already donated or pledged their contribution.
Celebrate Religious Liberty with Bishop Murry On Sunday,
July 3, Bishop George V. Murry, SJ will celebrate the 10:30
Mass at St. Columba Cathedral (154 W. Wood St., Youngstown)
in observation of the annual Fortnight for Freedom. All are
invited to the Mass and a simple coffee & doughnuts reception
which will follow in the cathedral social hall. In recent years the
U.S. Bishops have called for a “Fortnight for Freedom:”
fourteen days of prayer, education and action for religious
freedom in the US and abroad. The Fortnight for Freedom takes
place from June 21 to July 4, a time when the liturgical calendar
recognizes great martyrs who remained faithful in the face of
persecution by political power, including St. Thomas More and
St. John Fisher, St. John the Baptist, SS. Peter and Paul, and the
First Martyrs of the Church in Rome. This year’s theme focusses
on “Witnesses to Freedom.” To learn more go to
www.fortnight4freedom.org or call 330-744- 8451 ext. 272.
