Your name, of course, will stay a mystery, but I know for sure that you are my reader. If you are reading my post now, that means you would like to know something interesting about Miami and about the best events you can find in this sunny city. I’m not sure if you have ever visited our warm climes, so I ask you to read this short post. Things to do MIAMI Iren Miami! The vacation city located on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Around forty miles offshore one finds the Gulf Stream, which is why Miami has warm ocean waters and sunny weather all year round, even in the wintertime. Every year, the Miami Beach peninsula hosts around 30 million tourists from all over the world. So, to make your visit bright and full of activity, I will tell you about the most exciting events. I will be your tour guide. July is a special month for Americans. On July 4th the country celebrates its Independence Day. On that day, every state celebrates the birth of an independent country. It is a federal holiday, so most government workers have a day off and participate in holiday celebrations, view parades and fireworks and go for a picnic with family and friends. You can have a lot of fun that day. Are you into the nightlife? Then there are a lot of nightclubs for you: more nightclubs in Miami than palm trees (that’s a joke, but it’s also kind of true!). I also recommend the rooftop bars, where you can get a beautiful view of the city. Downtown & Brickell EPIC HOTEL DOWNTOWN MIAMI AREA FIFTY MIAMI ULTRA LOUNGE DOWNTOWN MIAMI AREA FOUR SEASONS HOTEL MIAMI DOWNTOWN MIAMI AREA MIAMI BEACH You can have a tasty and romantic dinner at Juvua Bar or HYATT CENTRIC SOUTH BEACH MIAMI If you have no friends or family with you, and you wish to make some new friends, then you have to know some special places. If you like to dance, then go to LIV MIAMI BEACH. If you like themed parties, July 9 is the Miami International Mango Festival. Food and drinks, music and shows, friendly conversation and plenty of smiles. This event takes place at the “Veranda” from 9:30AM to 4:30PM And if you want to jump into the world of theater, movies and symphonic music, then I would recommend the New World Symphony at the New World Center, built by Frank Gehry. Also, you can check out the symphonic performances and movies at SoundScape Park, where movies are projected on a huge wall. You need to arrive no later than 8PM Nice tour. Now it is time for a cup of delicious coffee and to plan your Miami trip ASAP. Maybe we will meet here. Check my schedule. Подробности на сайте themodum.com/things-to-do/ they really rock those jeans. I’m sure someone will ask for their phone numbers…” At that moment, a lightbulb flicked on in Harry Garcia’s head, and he knew what would happen next. His new song was born. The new pop song “Can I Get Your Number” is expected to be released this upcoming July. The destiny of this composition promises to become a hit of 2016. The talented composer Harry Garcia has been working on it for two months and is looking forward to releasing it so his current fans and future fans can enjoy the song. However, the excitement of releasing a hit is very common for Harry, as it has been part of his procedure for many years seeing as this is his living. Reflecting back on his childhood, Harry Garcia remembers sitting in front of the TV, watching music videos and thinking that one day he cannot wait do the same. Harry has seven sisters and three brothers, which, with the addition of growing up in the Windy City, and his musician family influenced his music career. Throughout the years, the desire to generate compositions grew so great that Harry could not resist anymore. So he prayed to God and said “If this what you want me to do, give me a sign.” To his surprise he could not know that a few months later, a friend of his would gift him $5,000 and begin a new chapter of his life. What inspires a Chicagoan composer HARRY GARCIA TO CREATE A NEW HIT? Photo by Stan Magoni www.stanmagoni.com When Harry Garcia was driving down the streets of Chicago while the weather was a high of 75, he saw a few of good looking women with stilettos and tight jeans walk in front of his car. The first thought that crossed his mind was, “Hmm, Harry Garcia soon started his career in the music industry with local bands in Chicago. From there it escalated to touring with several bands throughout the United States and abroad. Besides, he studied music composition in junior college and continued his education at Christian Life College and ANSA. Among other compositions in his background, he had created songs for a Dominican Republic commercial named “It’s A Showy Christmas Day” and a pop classical song “Adriana,” which has received 7,651 hits. Today, Harry says “Adriana” is his favorite piece he has ever composed. “I remember sitting down on my piano bench with my eyes closed, touching the ivory keys and releasing all the pain that was captivated in the walls of my soul without fear or judgment,” he recalled. “I remember I was up for 24 hours until the composition was completed.” The young composer spent countless sleepless nights by working hard. He also likes to spend some of his time at Rax Trax Recording and with his mentor Carlos VillaLobos CJ Villa. Harry recalls the journey of getting to the successful level of his career as compromising but pleasant. Sometimes you need to sacrifice your time and energy to achieve what you want. One of the secrets to compose a great piece is to always write down everything that comes to one’s mind. It is also very important to keep the excellent relationship between the players, composers and producers as well. Harry likes to say that one should always remember that music has no boundaries. “First, you must have a very good grasp of how to interpret what you hear both in the real world and in your head,” Harry has observed. “Secondly, you must have almost encyclopedic knowledge of how the most musical instruments work.” Composing takes a lot of one’s time, but Harry always finds time for the people he loves. Besides, in his spare time, he likes to do meditation. It helps him to concentrate and very quickly get new and vibrant ideas for a new composition. Harry Garcia is not only a successful composer, but also a regular volunteer at the Holiday Heroes Foundation that makes “an immediate impact on children and their families.” There are so many young people who dream of having the same job as Harry Garcia. His advice is that they all should believe in the divine gift that they have been born with. “Treasure every moment not as a loss, but as a new beginning.” А&А SUCCESS HISTORY I’m sure that everybody who loves and values ballet knows our guest Alexei Kremniev. The world’s famous dancer and choreographer, winner of multiple prizes in art, and loving husband and father at the same time. Now, after they finished their contract with Joffrey Ballet, Alexei and his wife, Anna, are enjoying the parenthood and looking forward to open their own dance studio. This and more you will find in today’s interview. What caught my attention? First, that was prestige. Second, back in USSR that could free me from army. Especially, there was the Afghan war at that time and my parents were very worried about me. The ballet gave me an opportunity to go abroad on tour. Plus, that was a good income. After I came back from Japan to Moscow I could live fine for a year and a half or could afford to buy a piece of land. Ballet is a lot of persistence and work. What gave you inspiration and continues to motivate you to move forward? First of all, it is a habit. Habit that formed since I was skating at CSKA School. We woke up at 5:30 a.m. because the morning training started at 6:30 a.m. After that we went to school and after school there was an evening training at 6:30 p.m. and finished at 9-10 p.m. It was like that daily. And if you don’t exercise daily your muscles are changing, you lose tonus. I used to be busy whole day since I was a kid so that’s become a habit that I carry with me my whole life. Which roles did you play while doing ballet? Which of those are you favorite and why? Alexei, I know that when you were a kid you were interested in doing figure skating and playing soccer. What made you prefer ballet over soccer? What about it caught your attention? I was skating with Pahomova and Gorshkov since I was 4 years old, they were skating as a couple at that time. And I was doing it till Pahomova died, that’s when I was 9. At that time my parents were deciding on where to send me next. And since the ballet in Russia historically was prestige, they didn’t have any questions and at age of 10 I took the first ballet class and I decided to take it serious. I performed all classic repertoire- “Swan Lake”, “Nutcracker”, “Carmen”, “Korsar”, “Giselle”, “Madam Butterfly”… to point out one is very difficult. For some time, I thought that my favorite was Albert from “Giselle”. Each play has different calisthenics and music… You live through every role you play and each one is beautiful. Do you have an idol in ballet? Who inspired you all these years? Michail Barishnikov. I remember, we used to watch his performances on tapes that was copied 10 times. I was inspired by his energy, plastic and character all the time. Despite of his age, he stays a leader in dance, every time bringing something new and extraordinary in it. How long have you been living in Chicago? We moved to Chicago in 2008. Joffrey Ballet offered me to direct the ballet school where, at that moment, were no students yet. Now there are 700 students studying at the school, Trainee program and Joffrey Studio Company are founded. On Sunday (06.06.2016) we stopped working with Joffrey Ballet and want to open our own studio. Put all efforts to our own future. Are you currently teaching? Or are you teaching and dancing? Frankly speaking, we are on vacation now (laughing). I didn’t dance for the last 12 years. Only in plays that I direct and only dramatic roles with no jumps. What was the brightest point in your ballet career? Contentment from the performed plays. I never liked the time before the play, I was nervous all the time. I loved the training time or the time right after play. And I never could watch recorded copy of my play. The moment of glory should pass quickly and you have to return to work on yourself. What sort of plans does for your future hold? You know, I never had a hobby. Ballet was always my hobby and my job at the same time. It took all my time and there was no time for any hobby. But I always wanted to have one (laughing). Right now all our plans are about opening our ballet center; we spent a lot of time and energy for other companies and now we want to spend it for our own company. How did your life change after you had your son? How did it changed? I sleep less (laughing). I didn’t sleep at all until he became 2 so it is better now. I figured out that everything is relative: to have a kid is very calming and makes you to think that your care and energy is very important for someone and that someone is in a big need of it. Автор: Anna Bobruenko Does your son have the same abilities in ballet as you? Unfortunately, yes (laughing). He is very gifted- legs are strong, he has plastic and wonderful ear for music. If he grows up and decides that he wants it then he is good to go. For right now he goes to gymnastics. What would you say is your secret for success? There is two types of success: art success and career success. Of course, you are suppose to have your own ideology but you have to have the ability to listen to other people and be flexible too. I have a good example of it: you have to be a car, not a train. A train goes on a rail, but a car can always turn or pass over. You need to know how to take a quick decision. And most important is to study, study and study. At age of 50 you might think that you are the smartest one, but there is always someone who can be more persistent than you. Try, study and always move forward. What would you suggest to our lovely readers that are on their way to pursue a dream? I recall a parable about a cat and a mouse. A mouse was sitting and dreaming about beauty and behind a mouse there was a cat who was dreaming about eating (laughing). Everybody has a different dreams. It is very pleasant to dream, but you have to do it realistically. A dream should be followed by a business-plan. A dream by itself means nothing if you don’t do anything to make it happen. http://www.aacenterfordance.org You can find more about future studio and its founders at www.aacenterfordance.org I will be your first captain of a big party-ship! VEL JOHANSSON Hi to all readers of the most stylish and most modern magazine “MODUM”! Let us meet up! My name is Vel Johansson. I’m Ukranian with Swedish roots and the most tattooed DJ and anchorperson in Ukraine. At the same time, I’m a showman, singer, radio host, actor, and sound producer. Happened, that I was born in Ukraine, Poltava region, the place, wherein 1709, the army of Swedish King Karl XII was defeated. And, as I see, my ancestors didn’t want to come back home, so they settled in that beautiful country. But this is historical fact now, excursus, to say so, but we are living in a different time now. So, let’s leave History for students (smiling). Like the old Scandinavians or Vikings, I have a fighting spirit, so I always try to be at the right place at the right time. Like right now I’m with you while you are reading my rubric. My creative activity I started back in 2007 was reading rap, and debuting with two songs in a club. And when our performance breaks a record, at that time, I understood that we could make a good product. Since that time there were a lot of good projects in different fields, shooting in various shows and advertisements, shooting video clips and movies. They still call to me to participate in those. After all those different events and performances, at that period, I want to talk about it more and more. As I said earlier, I’m a sound producer, and I write my tracks as feat. by Dj Kristyen. We write and release official remixes and mashups for many hit stars. Well, as I’m a DJ with huge experience behind me how could I not share this experience with the younger generation? Yes, you are right, I’m a teacher too (smiling). By the way, recently there was a show shooting on the main Ukrainian channel where I was teaching the main character to dj. It might appear like an ordinary story, but the character was actually entirely blind. Here is a little digression …or addition (smiling). Why is my rubric going to be interesting? Well, I think, because I never stay at one place. I always advance myself and go into different areas so later I can share everything with you. Also, I’m an active touring DJ; I can pass to you all the details and emotions of a club life, festivals, all kinds of social events, where I host, and of course to introduce you to celebrities that I meet every day, from first-hand experience. My manner of expression of my thoughts is a little bit different from other articles, so our communication is going to be a bit different too. We are going to be at the same level and speak the same language you talk to each other on different parties and events. Every cool event has a few crazy stories. Guided by my long-term experience, I can say one thing: club and social life is one big show! And that show is not just because, but because all the people of the planet Earth crave some “Meal’n’Real”. I am too, multiple times, during the show I’ve jumped in a pool, during festivals I’ve jumped from the stage with a water-gun filled with alcohol, usually it was whisky, rum or tequila (laughing), played music, while an armored vehicle, a BRDM-2, rolled up to the club, which was filled with 104 kW. It was incredibly cool: girls are swinging the flags, great soundtrack playing while we are performing, emotions of those present go off-scale, there is no way to stop dancing. And there are a lot more stories like that in my life long experience. And that is what I like to share with you, the brightest and exciting moments from the events I visit personally. So that your journey on endless scopes of loud music, lighted with a bunch of soffits and laser shows, bright flashes of the stroboscopes and twinkles of other gizmos, backed up with explosive energy of a DJ and more, begins! All that is real only in my rubric, and you can choose the events that you need! That’s why, grab some popcorn and Coke, or something stronger, and we will start our cruise of big party-ship where I will be your unaltered captain! Apple in a car market Last Fall Tesla Motors launched a new crossover SUV Tesla X. Manufacturer complemented the Model X with the most amazing features. It looks like a future car from outside, and also one can see the best parts of the different vehicles - you can find windows like in Audi A 5 without aluminum frames, and you can see a shadow of Mercedes SLS in falcon wing doors. The most impressive thing, in this car, is acceleration. If you decide to stomp on the accelerator, you will get a big surprise. But remember, the battery goes down faster too. I, personally, have a question: WHY does this car need 772 horsepower? Tesla Motors featured it as a family car after all. Apparently, after taking your kids to school in the morning and a Lamborghini pulls up right next to you, and you just start to surprise everyone around you. Then, you just drop off your grayhaired kids at school and drive off to run errands. THIS CAR IS AVAILABLE IN THREE MODELS: -Model 75D -Model 90D -Model P90D TODAY WE WILL TALK ABOUT 75D. Tesla Model 75D is a four-wheel drive, so with this car, you have nothing to be afraid of it will quickly drive through any mud or ice. One more point to engineers. The length of the car is 500 cm, the width is 208,3 cm, the height is 126,6 cm. The wheelbase is 306,1 cm. The sturdy car has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery which can last from 7 to 10 years. Large, safe and reliable- what else could you possibly need to be satisfied? :) NOW, WE LOOK CLOSER AT THIS CROSSOVER. The most impressive thing about it is the Safety First Design from inside out. Model X continually scans the surrounding roadway with a camera, radar and sonar systems, which provides the driver with real-time feedback to help avoid collisions and is designed to apply brakes automatically in an emergency. Also, Tesla Motors created useful filters to stop dust, bacteria and viruses, and is a bioweapon defense mode that can protect inhabitants from a biological attack. NOW, THE INTERIOR. New Tesla has no door handles. Now, it is only buttons. So, you just need to push the chromium-plated button to open the door. Here might be a possible problem. If the door freezes at winter time, you still can pull the door handle and open it, but with these buttons you do not have anything to pull for. The doors also now open and close automatically. The car ‘feels’ when you are coming to it and opens the doors for you. When you sit in the car and push brakes the doors close by itself. How cool is that? Cool indeed. But here you have a nuance too. Front doors only have «resistance sensors», which are touch sensors. Sonars of the back doors and autopilot help the car to ‘see’ obstacles on the sides. This is how Model X easily ‘sees’ a car right next to it, but in the very beginning, the car can make mistakes. However, with the time the doors will work better and better. Tesla Motors says that the car opens more carefully after a few weeks of use. And Model X can comfortably seat seven people within three rows and is regulated by buttons. Travelers are going to be surprised that Tesla can travel now. Tesla Motors equipped more than a hundred stations in each state to make the trips comfortable and easy. You can use Charger Estimator on the official website to see how much time you have to charge your car for a particular amount of miles. A very useful tool. Moreover, you can choose from default or personalized settings. The advantage of this car is that you don’t need to put gasoline, change oil or anything like that. Put your car on a charger and when the time comes just enjoy all the perks of an electric car. Tesla cars have one more fascinating thing- autopilot from Google. That allows you to make a trip more comfortable and safe. You can drive the vehicle from your IPhone or Smartwatch. The only minus of this car is the high price for a family car, so not every family can afford it. TO SUMMARIZE for me the Tesla is a fascinating car with its unique features. The car is respectable for innovation and design, but to buy or not to buy is a personal choice for each person. mirror; surprise yourself with a change of image by learning important secrets of makeup and different ways to look more attractive. B A R A S S E B A I V I CTO R IMPORTANT RULES FOR SUMMER MAKE-UP Hi everyone! If there’s anyone out there who still doesn’t know me, my name is Victoria Bessarab, and I have made the commitment to be your beauty expert in our beautiful «MODUM magazine.» First things first. Let’s meet again. Maybe some of you missed our first date on the website of the magazine, so I will repeat again… Every month I will be your guide to the world of beauty, including makeovers and fairy tales. In fact, we’re not talking about fantastic or supernatural changes here, but about real things that can help you to love yourself when you look in the Recently, I have been running my school, named the «Victoria Bessarab School,” and I have also been a general makeup artist for the biggest TV channel of Ukraine, STB. I think there is no one among Ukrainians and Americans who has never heard of shows like «X-Factor,» «Ukraine Got Talent,” «Everybody Dance,» «Ukrainian Supermodel,» etc. Those are the projects that have kept me busy 24/7. But all of that has been hidden from view because you can’t see the make-up artist’s job on your screen; the process always stays behind the scenes (smiling). During many years of working for STB, I not only did make-up but also became friends with such public figures as Slava Frolova, Igor Kondratuk, Irina Dubtsova, Natalia Bochkareva, Elka, Sergiy Sosedov, Anfisa Chehova, Serega, Oksana Bairak, Tatiana Denisova and many more. I graduated from several makeup schools, participated in different contests and even went to the US to study. I won second place in an international competition. I don’t want to talk more about myself because you can read about me on my page on the «MODUM» website. Actually, I don’t like bragging. But to show you who I used to work with so you can trust me, I have to share my life experience with you. This way you can see that I gained recognition not because of who I am, but because I do my job like nobody else can. For the first issue, I have prepared a simple but important post with recommendations. And we’ll start with summer make-up. In general, summer is vacation time, so let your body and your face rest. And remember, wherever you are do not apply make-up fanatically. Summer doesn’t like artificial colors. Apply everything that you have decided to but in a very thin layer. I hope we will become friends and meet on the website and in the pages of «MODUM.» Now, to the issue! One of the main rules of summer make-up is: if you use make-up, don’t apply it like a mask. To look natural during the summer, you have to decrease by at least half whatever you used before. That is, you have to put on your make-up very lightly and in a thin layer. As for primer, I recommend using something light and airy, like BB cream or Light Tones Face & Body. I suggest putting it on with your fingertips. Because of your body heat, it will lay on very smoothly. For sure, you never thought about that before (smiling). I hope your summer is bright and fun, and your face always looks young! In the summer, I recommend that you not use powder or, if you cannot live without it, that you put on a very thin layer and use the clear matte variety. But better to put it only on the T-zone. Also, use a lip balm in the summer. It is crucial to prevent your lips from getting too dry and from cracking. Use resistant cream shadow for the eyes that lasts up to eight hours. I like Maybelline Shadows. But don’t overuse it. In the summer, when it’s hot, you have to apply one and only one color to the moving part of the upper eyelid. As for mascara, for summer I suggest using something waterproof, because that way it won’t melt in the heat and leave a mark. Pick a cream texture in rouge only. This will look very fresh and not obtrusive. WHERE TO START? It doesn’t matter what age you are, sex, ethnicity, profession, daily routines, of if you did sports before or not and many many more – our regular ‘I will start fresh on Monday’ is somehow present in all of our lives; but we often give ourselves a promise and then break it. In our mind we would run 5K every morning ‘starting tomorrow’, going to wake up and go to bed one hour earlier, quit all our bad habits like a glass of white every Friday, etc. And because today (by the same logic) is not the notorious tomorrow, not Monday and not the first of the month- we are finishing our blackberry donut from Stan Donuts, drinking Frappuccino from Starbucks, and it doesn’t matter after all. We gave ourselves a promise that tomorrow we are going to start a new life, so today we can ‘finish’ the old one. Sounds familiar? Then, with a 100% confidence, I can inform you that your ‘tomorrow’ will never come, it will never become today. It’s going to stay your blurry dream which will remain in your subconscious 24/7, suppressing your real today’s «I am». Why is that so? By giving yourself the promise to do something, we like to find a decision of a problem and our hormones, like dopamine, replace reality by desirable. After all, we justified ourselves, and our brain received enough stimulation, hormone serotonin won, and we are happy. And then again and again. So, how do we break that vicious circle? You can find all details at our website at www.themodum. com/afterparty/sport But first of all, you have clearly understood that health and sport are directly bright, unforgettable and unique inherently lifestyle and all who wants to ‘lose weight two weeks before vacation’ or ‘put on those skinny jeans’ should turn the page because we talk about quality life-long and fundamental changes. And for any change you need to have a start point- desire and motivation. Because if you are not thirsty you will never feel full (there is no better example).
