PERFORMING ARTS General PA Rules: 1. Music or pre recorded audio tracks etc. should be burnt in the mp3 format in a CD and must be submitted to the concerned event-in-charge during registration. No other formats or devices will be entertained. 2. It is advisable for the CM's of participating colleges to have backups on CD's for their audio tracks. We will not be responsible for the non-recognition of CD's or incompatibility of formats. 3. CD's will be checked 20 minutes before the commencement of the event. 4. The cue for lights sounds or both will not be the responsibility of SHOUTT and should be managed by CM's wherever applicable. 5. SHOUTT & Jai Hind College do not claim any responsibility towards damage or loss of belongings/equipments/props etc. of participants & we advise you to be careful with the same. (I)Nautanki (Hinglish Drama) Expression is one of the biggest strengths of a child and what better a place to showcase them than a stage. Nautanki is a bilingual theatre event based on a funny experience of the growing days of a child in school. The play must have a moral conclusion as a take home message to all. Prerequisites: 1. 2. 3. 4. Drama should be based on the theme A scene from school A teacher from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. A Disney recess character Rules: 1. Time Limit: 10-12 minutes 2. Set up time: 4 minutes 3. Elimination: 5 minutes & finals should be an extension of the same. 4. OTSE not allowed only PRNC's allowed. 5. Number of entries per college: 1 6. Number of participants: 8-12 7. Class Monitor: 1 8. Languages: Both Hindi and English are mandatory. 9. Lists of props, costumes, participants, CM & script to be submitted by the 2nd SP meet. 10. Any information given thereafter will be marked -2 11. Narration & enactment to be simultaneous. 12. Pre-recorded narration allowed but pre-recorded dialogues not allowed. 13. List of items provided: 3 stand mic; 2 wireless mic; 2 chairs & 1 table. (II)Band-Aid (Fusion Band Event) Can you make the crowd sway to your tunes? Can you make them bang their heads to each one of your beats? Band-Aid is the event for you! Let the drum rolls begin & your amps fire up the music. Cater to both Indian and Western music lovers and get them tapping their feet away!! Prerequisites: 1. A lead vocalist of each genre (Indian & Western). 2. 2 Indian instruments. 3. A western instrument. 4. A song based on Hindustani/Karnatak/Folk music. 5. Jugalbandi between vocalists of the 2 genres. 6. An original composition for the finals. 7. Songs must be from the 90's. Rules: 1. Time limit: 8-10 minutes. 2. Set up Time: 4 minutes. 3. Number of participants: 5-8 4. Class Monitor: 1 5. Number of entries per college: 1 6. Elimination: 4 minutes & finals should be an extension of the same. 7. OTSE not allowed only PRNC's allowed. 8. Distortion will not be permitted & if used will be marked -20. 11. List of items provided: 4 mics; 4 amps; 2 monitors; 2 chairs & 1 table. 12. Keyboard and drum kit will be provided. 13. Participants may get their own snare & cymbals. (III)D.F.A.C. (Dance for a Cause) RECESS…Back to School brings to you Dance for a Cause. Children are vulnerable and fall under one of the most abused sections of the society. Socially and economically underprivileged children face many bitter experiences. The Dance form must highlight these issues. Prerequisites: 1. 2. Dance must adhere to the theme provided. 2 props related to the topic. Rules: 1. Time limit: 8-10 minutes 2. Set up time: 3 minutes 3. Number of participants: 6-8 4. Class Monitor: 1 5. Number of entries per college: 1 6. Elimination: 4 minutes & finals should be an extension of the same 7. OTSE not allowed only PRNC's allowed. 8. (IV)Chal Chaiyya Chaiyya (Bollywood Dance) Indians love to balle balle for every occasion. SHOUTT gives you a platform to shake a leg for us. Take your favorite numbers from the 90's and bring back the moves and jives of that era to the stage. Prerequisites: 1. Songs and choreography should be from 90's Rules: 1. Time Limit: 8-10 minutes 2. Number of participants: 6-8 3. Number of entries per college: 1 4. Class Monitor: 1 5. Elimination: 4 minutes & finals should be an extension of the same 6. OTSE not allowed only PRNC's allowed. 7. Lists of costumes (should include everything, even pins etc.), participants, props, songs should be submitted by 2nd SP meet. 8. Any information given thereafter will be marked -2. (V)O'Carol (Acapella) Come December, and the atmosphere lights up with Christmas jingles. If you were a part of your school choir, this event is for you. Bring back the choir experience through Christmas carols. Match note after note with your fellow choristers to set the mood up for the Christmas Eve. Prerequisites: 1. It is strictly an acapella event 2. The songs chosen should be Christmas carols 3. Number of carols: minimum 3 Rules: 1. Time Limit: 7-10 minutes 2. Number of participants: 8-12 3. Number of entries per college: 1 4. No instruments of any kind to be used 5. Elimination: 4 minutes & finals should be an extension of the same. 6. OTSE not allowed only PRNC's allowed. 7. List of participants & carols to be submitted by 2nd SP meet. 8. Pitch pipes if required need to be carried by the participants. 9. Pre-recorded song sequences not allowed on stage. (VI)Yo Yo Honey SING!! (Rapping Event) Mere daadu pehne diaper, unke chasme mein hai wiper!! The Rap songs picked up in the 90's & participants will be expected to recreate the rap era. The challenge will be to rap famous songs of the 90's which were not originally rap songs. Bring your creativity in and make everyone YO to your song. Prerequisites: Rap a 90's bollywood song from a different genre Rules: 1. Time Limit: 3-5 minutes 2. Number of participants: 1-2 3. Number of entries per college: 1 4. No instruments of any kind to be used 5. OTSE allowed. 6. List of participants & songs to be submitted at the time of registration. 7. Pre-recorded song sequences not allowed on stage. (VII)Fashioniesta (Informals) 5…6…5, 6, 7, 8!! And the models start sizzling the ramp with their oomph & their poise to the flashes and the clicks & the ooh's and the aah's. The fashion show is one of the most popular events in SHOUTT history & it continues to inundate our pavilion with more pairs of eyes to see their friends raise the temperature inside the auditorium. Going by our experience, we strongly recommend seat belts for this event for your own safety!! Rules: 1. Time: 10 – 12 minutes 2. Participants: 10 – 12 3. Class monitor: 2 4. No. of teams per college: 1 5. No vulgarity / stripping allowed 6. Lists of participants, Ca, props, songs and costume (should include even small things like pins) should be submitted by 2nd SP meet. 7. 2 sequences are a prerequisite: one sequence strictly related to the theme & second sequence should be correlated to the first sequence. 8.
