Ursuline News News from the Middle and Upper School For Ursuline Middle and Upper School Families March 3, 2014 Lent is the time when Christians prepare for the greatest feast, Easter. During this time we try to follow the example of Jesus in the desert. In Pope Francis’ Lenten message for 2014, he “takes inspiration from the words of St. Paul (Cor 8:9) and asks us to contemplate Paul's invitation to live ‘a life of evangelical poverty." “We can begin to embrace this call by fasting from or "giving up" material things, including foods, that are superfluous to our basic needs; "taking up" charitable habits that are directed to helping and caring for others; and "lifting up" our brothers and sisters who are in need through giving alms, praying and participating in devotional practices.” United Conference of Catholic Bishops Ursuline Academy Middle and Upper School This Week Monday 03/03 C Day Tuesday 03/04 Thursday 03/06 F Day Friday 03/07 G Day D Day Junior Parent Night - 7:00 p.m. (Aud./Gym) US Community Wednesday 03/05 E Day All School Ash Wednesday Liturgy Dress Down Day for St. Bernard Parish $3.00 9:45 a.m. (Gym) Formal Uniform Required BBall Finals at the Bob.
