The safest way to get around Spain is by train. It’s
fast, safe, and comfortable all while not needing
directions.
Trains are easy for long trips and you don’t need to
stop for food.

Alhambra- located in Granada, Spain. It’s a red
fortress tower on top of the hill, La Sabika. Alhambra
was a fortress in the 9th century, then turned into a
palace/fortress. In the 13th, 14th, and 15th century. In
the 18th century Napoleon used it for barracks and
then became a national monument in 1870. It’s best to
visit in the morning, or in the late afternoon.
Centro de Arte Reina Sofia- It’s an art museum in
Madrid. Home to the famous Picasso painting,
Guernica. Other famous artists include Juan Gris,
Georges Braque, Joan Miro, Salvador Dali, and Pablo
Gargallo.

Montseerrat- Mountains in Barcelona that has
awesome rising limestone pinnacles over gorges. The
most dramatic way to get up is by cable car.

early weekdays or on summer weekends.
La Sagrada Famalia- A monstrous cathedral located in

Spain’s climate varies a lot depending on where you
go. If you go south you will want to pack light
(shorts, t-shirts, dresses etc.)
If you go north you should pack normal (jeans, tshirts, maybe sweatshirt). Spaniards are stylish, so
take caution when packing.

July and August are very hot and is not smart to go
during these months. During this time Madrid is
usually empty due to vacations.
The best months to go are May, June, and September.
April and October are good if you’re going south.

Polite Phrases- Hola= Hi, Como estas? = How are
you?
Gestures- Eye contact is important, people usually
stand close and touch each other on the arm when
talking. Men shake hands, good friends hug, and
when greeting women a kiss on the cheek.

Tipping-Tipping is optional but is appropriate if the
meal was thought satisfactory

The currency used in Spain is called the “Euro”. The
Euro is equal to $1.30 in U.S. money so now you
know what is cheap and what is expensive.
Many other places in Europe also use the Euro so
then it’s easier to pay for different things in different
places
