Lithuanian wine
history
Fruit and berry wines widely
developed in Europe and other
parts of the world where
because of the weather
conditions can not grow vines.
Fruit and berry wines are
produced in the northern region
of Europe - in Scandinavia, as
well as in Germany and across
Eastern Europe, including
Lithuania. The first wine
company of Lithuania was
founded in the year 1926,
named“Anykščių vynas”.

“Anykščių vynas” opened its
door to the visitors – it was
introduced a special excursion
program, under the title “The
Wine Route of Lithuania”. The
program includes an
acquaintance with the enterprise
and drinks tasting. During the
tasting visitors may taste kinds of
produced alcohol drinks, get
acquainted with its composition,
specific features of taste and
odour, the consumption culture.

participating in this
program goes in two
directions – your eyes will
see a transformation of the
fruit wine, and at the
same time learn about the
Lithuanian wine
traditions change,
influenced by the
changing times and
attitudes of the Lithuanian
wine.
