Ways of Mercy
RCIA INVITATION
By Joseph R. Veneroso, M.M.
“I have called you by name, you are mine.”
(Isaiah 43:1)
The invitation to respond to God’s call is extended to all who
are interested in exploring the Catholic way of life. The
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) process is open
to adults, teens, and children of catechetical age (7 years of
age or older) who:
* Have never been baptized.
To the hungry, mercy comes as a hot meal
To the homeless, a safe place to sleep
To the poor, new clothes to wear
To those who thirst, clean water.
To the sick, mercy comes as a healing hand
To those in sorrow, a peaceful presence
To the elderly, a sympathetic ear
To the lost, a guiding voice.
To the lonely, mercy comes as a caring visit
To the fearful, a reassuring calm
To the refugee, a warm welcome
To the prisoner, a spirit reborn.
* Have been baptized in another faith and would like to
become Catholic.
* Have been baptized Catholic and have had no further
catechization.
* Have been baptized Catholic but have not completed full
To the unemployed, mercy comes as a long-sought job
To those who fail, a second chance
To the addict, twelve steps to freedom
To the dying an unwavering hope.
Mercy thus comes to all people
In whatever form they most need
For it is our duty as followers of Jesus
To bring, to become, to be that mercy
To everyone we meet.
initiation into the Church through Confirmation and/or
Eucharist.
* Would like to explore Roman Catholicism and make no
commitment at this time.

The Strengthening of the Family Unit
Father, it is apparent throughout Your Word that You instituted the family –father, mother, & children.
I realize, however, that a family unit can also consist of many other combinations, such as a husband &
wife, a father & children, a mother & children or siblings.
I pray in the name of Jesus that the standard of a godly family will be restored to our nation.
May there be a resurgence in the public forum of the benefits of a godly family.
May it be become apparent to those who form public opinion that family values as represented in Scripture
are the path in which to lead our nation.
