Think of someone you know who could use some encouragement. It could be anyone from a friend or neighbor to family member or simply someone whose path you cross within our community. Whether you use paper and scissors or a computer, share kind words and encouraging thoughts. This simple, warm-hearted gesture will make someone’s day! On Tuesday evening, August 4, the Bassmasters and Kinship celebrated 20 years together. It was a fantastic, mild night on beautiful Half Moon Lake with 21 youth and their mentors joined by the fishermen for an evening of fishing, boat rides, food, and fun. Prizes were given to the participating kids, including a pair of fishing poles. Each year, many local businesses generously partner with the Bassmasters to make the evening a success by donating food, beverages, or prizes for the youth. This year, two dozen businesses from the Unity area, Amery, and St. Croix Falls all helped support the event. In addition, Kinship is grateful to the boaters who graciously shared their love of the sport. This event has blessed many youth and adults since 1995. It has continued strong because of a wonderful group of men and their wives who believe that by showing youth you care by sharing interests and hobbies, you can make a difference. You can help encourage and shape the next generation. Thank you Bassmasters! Kinship looks forward to another 20 years of introducing children to a fantastic activity!
