As November approaches there are some important dates and events for you to know about.
Our trimester assessments in reading, wri5ng, and math will occur in November. Please make sure your child is at
school every day.
The Wallace food drive is November 2-19. If you are able to donate non-perishable food items, please send them to
school with your child.
Thanks for Giving food distribu5on is November 24th.
Parent teacher conferences are from November 23-25th. These three days are non-student aendance days so that
teachers can meet with all of their students’ parents. Please go into Skyward to schedule your conference 5me.
The window to schedule conferences is November 2-13. If you do not know your Skyward login, please call
Michele Eaves, our school secretary at 501-1650 to confirm your ac5ve email address. Skyward conference informa5on is included in this newsleer. Conferences are a good 5me for you to connect with your child’s teacher
about the progress he/she is making, so please schedule the 5me that works best for you by scheduling through
the Skyward system.
Please con5nue to support your child by encouraging perfect aendance, good ci5zenship and mee5ng their academic
goals. I am looking forward to recognizing many students on the WOW wall!

On October 5, 2015 during our Wallace Family Event, we were joined
by several local Hair Stylists who donated their services to provide
free haircuts for our students before picture day. Thank you to Valre
and Pearl from Mirror Images, Beth and Kendra from Sunnicus,
Tawnya from Tuscany Sun Hair Salon, and Rachel from Centralia
Beauty College. Thank you also to Healthy Living Collabora5ve of
Southwest Washington for sponsoring our family event.

Parents are able to access their
child’s lunch account balance, view
the emergency informa5on and contact informa5on currently on file
and much more from Family Access
to Skyward. We will again be using
the conference module to schedule
school conferences again this school

Parental Involvement/Title I Complaints/Concerns
A complaint/concern is a signed written statement that includes allegations or concerns applicable to the
Title I Educational Program (LEA Level) and information that supports the complaint/concern.
Note: Any parent, teacher, or other concerned individual(s) or organization may file a complaint.
Procedures:
1. Written complaints may be given to local school principals and/or filed at the Department of Federal
programs at the Kelso School District office. (601 Crawford St, Kelso)
2. Signature of the complainant is required.
3. The written complaint will then be delivered to the Superintendent’s office by the principal or his/
her designee.
4. Upon receipt of the written complaint, the Title I Coordinator, or designee, will investigate the
complaint in a timely manner consulting with the Superintendent if necessary.
5. Within a timely manner, a resolution and written decision acknowledging receipt of the complaint/
concern will be rendered by the Kelso School District. (Title I Coordinator/designee)
