Dear parents/carers,
I hope that you've all had a wonderful week. I've been delighted to see that attendance has been
on the up for so many of our classes, thank you for your support on this! It's been a very busy
week with assessments and I'm really excited to see just how much our children have learned
when all the results come in after the weekend.
Next week is the final week of term, and we will be closing on Thursday 2nd April. We close on
Thursday as Friday is a bank holiday, on which many people in the UK will be celebrating Easter.
I'm naturally aware that this will not be the case for all, but wish you all a very happy holiday
anyway!
The message of Easter, irrespective of our backgrounds or beliefs, is an important one I believe,
and one which we could all reflect on in our own fashion. For me, the story of Easter is a story of
sacrifice and forgiveness. Sacrifice and forgiveness
I have one request this week, regarding hairstyles. I'd like to remind parents with boys that we
don't allow mohicans, or strips shaved into boys haircuts at KSA. It's an important part of our
uniform policy - it's important that our young people begin to form good habits with dressing appropriately for school so that they are ready for the world of university and professionalism when
they are older.
Don't forget that the clocks go forward this weekend, we don't want you arriving for school an
hour late on Monday!

This term in D.T, YR1 have been designing their own fantasy playgrounds because they would like
there KS1 playground to resemble their ideal playgound. During the lessons they have been using
Junk Modelling, Lego, Art Straws and Pipe Cleaners to design playground equipment to be added
to their models. They have been doing a great job of using their imagination, so far. When all models are finished they will be on display for the whole school to admire.
SPRING CONCERT

On Thursday 2nd of April 2015, KSA is going to hold a magnificent
Spring Concert. This event will take place in the Secondary Hall
from 4:30 to 5:30pm. In total 240 children will perform in the concert. Years 3-6 will perform with their instruments. Additionally,
One Voice Choir will be performing with Miss N and Miss Kolawole will be holding an Art Exhibition in the foyer showing children’s amazing artwork. Miss Sirota, the head of primary music,
stated, “I’m very, very excited about this big event! Nobody can
miss this!”

LANGUAGE OF THE WEEK

This week’s language is German! German originates from Germany. It is approximately
40% larger than the UK, with an area of 357,000 km2. Here are the basics words in German:

On Tuesday 24th March, Khalid Dovie, Cesare Merino, Mateusz Wybranouski, Hussein El- Hajmoussa, Soda Ochirbat, Andi Bregovina and Yusef Binouf beat year 7 in a football match. Mateusz scored two brilliant goals! Soda fiercely saved an amazing shot from Travon. The score
was 2-1 to year 6 and year 5. Year 6 was full of joy because they beat the old year 6 team. Soda
Ochirbat stated, “saving the shots from the year 7s is tough, but I was ecstatic that I did manage
to save most of them!
OUR ROLLING STORY
Once there was a rich, spoilt boy called Jamie. He lived in L.A (it was the rich part), but it was
filled with rude kids. He loved to eat chocolate and sweets such as; Strawberry Shoelaces,
Crunchies and Snickers also he never liked to obey rules. One day, Jamie moved to another
school because he got bullied a lot (he was fat). When he got to his new school, he was the
most popular person because he got $50 pocket money everyday, so he bought his friends
sweets and little toys. However, he started to act rude and selfish, so his friends left him, he
was lonesome for a long time. One day Jamie went home, he saw his old friend’s from his new
school hanging out. He quickly ran back to his house, because he knew they didn’t like him
anymore and wouldn’t want to play with him. When, he got to his room something was
wrong…

BOOK LAUNCH FOLLOW UP VISIT

On Friday 20th March, a few Year 6 students revisited
McKinsey and Company. Shahd Pinheiro, Temi Farodoye, Khalid Dovie, Leban Awale, Anushka
Chaturvedi , Samiyah Amtot and Mrs Mills. It was a
fundraising event for charity and we were given the
job of convincing people to buy our book. The way
this was done was that we showed people who
worked for McKinsey our new book, along with a
book that McKinsey and Co recently published and
convinced them to buy both. The pupils and I were
allowed to stand on the tables, and do exactly what
we did at the previous event- the actual book launch,
which was read some of our stories. Amazingly, most
workers donated between £15- £150, a few even donated £300! All of the Year 6 students that took part in
this event were content and happy after returning to school, since in total we raised over £4000.
And that was just 6 KSA pupils…
HYDE PARK ISIS EDUCATIONAL CENTRE

On Tuesday 24th Nursery
visited Hyde Isis Educational Centre. They went
pond dipping and saw the
life cycle of frogs, butterflies and plants. Most parents were able to attend
the trip with their children.
They travelled by coach
and they got the chance to
go to the park and play. Moreover they read the Hungry Caterpillar. After that, they got to make
their own caterpillars. They all had a wonderful time and really enjoyed themselves.
