CHAMPION REALTY RANKS SEVENTH IN “TOP WORKPLACE” SURVEY
More Than 3,000 Companies Queried in Annual Washington Post Contest
Annapolis- For the second consecutive year, Champion Realty has been voted “Best Place to
Work” by its own agents and staff, placing seventh on a list of similar sized companies. One
hundred and fifty companies were ranked from 3,147 invited to participate.
Last year Champion ranked 17th in the same survey.
“It’s especially gratifying to know our agents and staff moved us up even further on the list this
year,” says Jon Coile, President and CEO of Champion. “The culture at Champion is something
created by each and every one of us and this just validates that we’ve all built something special
the just keeps getting better.”
“We have a unique company here. While we are an affiliate of Berkshire Hathaway at the top of
the Fortune 500 list, we are also family oriented and deeply care about our team members. We
truly have the best of both worlds,” remarked Bette Evans, Champion’s Director of Human
Resources.
The survey, conducted by Workplace Dynamics, asks employees to rate their jobs, their
leadership and the health of their organization. They also rate things like values, mission and
culture. To be included in the top tier, employees must indicate their belief in the company’s
goals, direction and inclusiveness. More than 52- thousand Washington area workers responded
to questions.
Agents who work at Champion say the family-like atmosphere and administrative support
provide a comfort level that enables great success.
“Champion offers unbelievable administrative support to their agents and a management team
that fosters a supportive, collegial environment,” says James Connelly, a Champion recipient of
First Year Excellence award in 2015. “Coupled with strong training and continuing education
program, Champion offers everything you need to succeed.”
“I started working at Champion in 1988,” says Jean Andrews, one of Champion’s top agents for
nearly three decades. “I have always found Champion Realty to be the ‘Best Place to Work’
because of the welcoming atmosphere, the emphasis on training and technology and the easy
access to management for answers to any questions.”
Complete results from the Washington Post Survey are published in the Sunday, June 20th edition
of the newspaper.
