From the Vice Chancellor Speech
of Commencement 2008
Dear Graduates,
You came here this evening to celebrate the end of an important stage in your
life characterized mainly by hard work, dedication and perseverance. You leave
this building carrying an important document in your hand, a document that is
proof of the timeless effort you put forth and the success you achieved.
Within the walls of ALHOSN University you gained experience, wrote long
assignments and took many exams. But that was not all; you gained an education
which has prepared and equipped you for the upcoming challenges you will
encounter as you go through life with an enlightened and an open mind.
Dear Graduates,
You leave Al Hosn at this stage with a qualification that you dreamt of. Not only
that, you also leave the University with memories of friendships and acquaintances
you made with fellow students, faculty, and staff. I am confident you will carry on
in your pursuit for knowledge and experience, continuing your academic careers
by either achieving your masters or PhD degrees. And it is, of course, a great honor
you will look back and reminisce about your starting point here at ALHOSN.
Dear Graduates,
You will face many challenges and obstacles life throws in your way, but
dear graduate you must bear in mind to be strong and not let them interfere in
accomplishing your goals. You must reflect on what you can do to help and
support those who surround you, to all those who have never once been slow
to provide you everything within their power and, to those who showed concern
and provided unsurpassed support, advice and help until you reached your goal
successfully.
We should always ask ourselves, what can we offer to our close, beloved ones
who encouraged us, and how can we contribute to the well-being and happiness
of those who are around us...
Professor Abdul Rahim Sabouni
