Family Mud Quest
Gettin' Dirty in the 'Dale!
Saturday, September 14 1:00 p.m.
You’ll need your old gym shoes and clothes to take part in
the first annual Family Mud Quest! This pre-ComeUnity
Bash activity is designed to be wet, dirty and fun for teams
made up of two or more family members. Grandmothers,
grandfathers, grandchildren, daughters and sons or other
family members (5 or older) can make up a team to walk or
run through a non-competitive, muddy and messy obstacle
course on field #5 of the Community Center. Register your
family team by September 6 and each team member that
completes the course will receive a free Mud Quest T-shirt!
Round up the family and enjoy dirty, squishy, slippery,
good old fashion Springdale mud! Crazy event and family
appropriate costumes encouraged.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket and pick a spot in front of the
stage on field #4 to take a trip down memory lane with the
entertaining Beatles tribute band, “Ticket to Ride” at 3 p.m.
At 5:30 p.m. the popular country rock group, the “Danny
Frazier Band” will play classic country favorites. The evening
concludes with the horn-charged rock-soul band “Second

Getting your Estate Planning in Order
Tuesday, September 10
Retirement Ready is a series of workshops being offered
at the Springdale Community Center. The third workshop
will be offered September 10th at 2:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.
It’s important to have a plan in place, implement
your plan, and make sure others know about it.
Procrastination is the biggest enemy to estate planning.
Take action now and learn how to plan so you avoid
problems in the future.
Appalachian Story Time
Thursday, September 12 2:00 p.m.
"Imagine yourself in the past” - say, one hundred years ago on the porch of a mountainside cabin after the day's work is
complete. This twilight time of day is typically when songsters
and storytellers weave their magic.
To register for this free workshop call 346-3910 by
September 9. Light refreshments will be served.
Russ and Barb Childers use fiddle, banjo, dulcimer – and a few
surprises – to reveal the memories held in the squares of their fullsize Story Quilt. Audience members choose from 12 different
designs on the 65” x 45” Story Quilt; and Russ & Barb will tell a
story, proverb, folk belief, song, or dance about the design. Each
pattern offers a uniquely interactive fun-filled history lesson.
Wii Bowling is back!
Bring a friend to this intriguing and free program!
Register by September 10.
September 17 & October 15 1:00 p.m.
Springdale has joined the Wii generation! Bowling is
the game and Herb’s 193 is the score to beat. Come join
the fun, throw some strikes and spares and break the
Springdale record!
Protect Yourself from Scams
Thursday, September 19 2:00 p.m.
Learn how to protect yourself from scams at this seminar presented
by Joe Ture, Community Service Officer of the Springdale
Police Department. There are many different scams from home
improvement to mail fraud. Keep you and your family safe by
becoming aware of the tricks and learn what to do if you are
contacted by a potential scammer or if you become a victim.
Pick a date convenient to you, September 17 or
October 15. Better yet, come to both!
Please Register at the front desk.
