Be a Parent Volunteer! Springdale Primary School Parents’ Involvement Parent Volunteer • Help out on an ad-hoc basis, e.g. chaperon on learning journeys • Less time commitment Parent Support Group (PSG) Member • Help out on a longer term basis, with events which require planning, organising & conceptualisation, e.g. Teachers’ Day celebrations • More preparation & time commitment Springdale Primary School Parents’ Involvement Activity/Event Learning Journeys Concert Preparations What it entails Involvement Act as chaperons & One-off activity ensuring students’ safety Make-up for students One-off event Games Carnival Assist with discipline, One-off event in organising students Term 4 School events, e.g. Craft work & decorations One-off event Racial Harmony Day celebrations Springdale Primary School Parents’ Involvement Activity/Event Storytelling Celebrations, e.g. organising Teachers’ Day Preparation of resources & materials What it entails Storytelling during recess in MRL Conceptualise, prepare or participate in simple activity or concert Laminating, cutting & preparing resources, shelving of books, wrapping of books, etc. Road Traffic Wardens Assist with traffic duties just outside the school Springdale Primary School Involvement Weekly, for all languages, during recess Longer term preparation On-going & longer term On-going & longer term Our Programmes Children’s Day cum Games Carnival Our Programmes Teachers’ Day Celebrations 2014 Our Programmes Our Learning Journeys Your Involvement Let us know how you would like to contribute!
