Thrift Shop Welcome Team GRADUATION SUNDAY Graduation Sunday will be next Sunday, May 19th. There will be a breakfast in the breezeway that morning to honor the graduating high school seniors and their families. The graduates will be recognized in the 9:15 a.m. service. PULSE YOUTH GROUP Pulse youth group will be having a lock-in beginning Friday, May 17th, at 6:00 p.m. through Saturday, May 18th, at 8:00 a.m. All youth grades 6 – 12th grades are invited! Time will be spent studying our relationship with God, planning a youth service, playing games, and enjoying time together! If you are a youth member who would like to attend, please pick up a permission slip in Souers Hall. Please see Pastor Kerri if you have any questions. Pulse youth group will have a pool party on Sunday, May 19th. We will meet in at the church at 3:00 p.m. and head to the Urban’s and return to the church for our normal meeting time of 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. Pick up a permission slip in Souers Hall if you plan to attend. MEMBERSHIP ORIENTATION The members and Pastors of The Church at Litchfield Park are in hopes that our warmth and the messages heard have peaked your interest and made you feel welcomed. If you are interested in more information about The Church at Litchfield Park or are interested in joining, please plan to attend a brief meeting after the 9:15 a.m. service on May 19th or June 16th. New members will be received on May 26th and June 23rd during the 9:15 a.m. or 10:45 a.m. services. After a summer break, orientation will resume in September. 7 FREE COMMUNITY VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL Time to register for VBS! Vacation Bible School June 3 – June 7 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. th Pre-school through 5 grade. Join us for songs, activities, games, snacks and Bible study. Registration forms are in Souers Hall and in the church office. It’s time to begin planning for our 2013 Vacation Bible School (VBS) program Kingdom Rocks: Where Kids Stand Strong for God! Our week-long session will serve children from 3 years old through 5th grade, Monday, June 3rd – Friday, June 7th, from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. each evening. Adults and youth are needed for this important ministry to the children in our community. Helpers will need to be available from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. to prepare for each night. There are many ways to assist with this program. See the sign-up sheets in the breezeway to find a job that matches your talents! If you have questions, please contact Pastor Kerri. SIGN UP FOR SUMMER CAMP! Children who will be entering grades 2-5 in the fall of 2013 are encouraged to sign up for the Southwest Conference United Church of Christ 2013 Summer Camp. Camp for all age groups will be held at Emmanuel Pines Camp in Prescott. The theme for 2013 is “Stellar” and the campers will explore Job 38:31-33, 3738 and how it relates to their lives. The camps hope to “create a safe and sacred space where youth are free to be themselves as they encounter God and one another, nurturing their wildest imagination.” Registration forms can be accessed on-line (www.uccswc.org), in the breezeway or through the church office. Age groups, dates and fees are listed below. Registration with payment should be turned in to the office no later than Monday, May 13th, so they can be mailed in together by the deadline. There are limited partial scholarships through the church. Incoming grades 2-3 for fall 2013 (June 16-19) $180 Incoming grades 4-5 for fall 2013 (June 16-21) $360 8 INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL OF COMMUNITY CHURCHES (ICCC) Annual Conference “A time of reflection…reflect the Light” Please plan on attending the ICCC conference July 21-24th, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Registration forms are available in the church office during the week and in Souers Hall between services or you can register on-line at www.icccusa.com. LAST WEDNESDAY NIGHT PROGRAMS FOR THE SUMMER Join us on Wednesday evening for the final dinner for the school year and all the wonderful activities. The menu for May 15th is chicken spaghetti, salad, rolls and cupcakes. Dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m. See the bulletin for more information, or call the office at (623) 935-3411. W.C.S.F. THRIFT SHOP The Women’s Christian Service Fellowship Thrift Shop will be open on Thursday, May 16th, from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Monies raised are used to fund various W.C.S.F. projects, missions and ministries. Donations that are clean and in working order are always welcome. Donations may be dropped off Wednesday, May 15th, from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m., or you may schedule an appointment by contacting Monica Sproull (623) 935-2656 or Millie Ezell (623) 935-3953. They request items not be left outside the doors or left in the office. WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP Circle 6… Circle 6 will meet on Wednesday, May 15th, at 6:30 p.m. in the Watt House. This will be the final meeting and Wednesday night dinner for the school year, so feel free to come at 6:00 p.m. to eat, and bring your kids for activities and play. We are talking about having several special family activities to help us stay connected during the summer, so bring your ideas! All women are welcome! 9 WELCOME TEAM NEEDS YOUR HELP The only requirement for being a part of the Welcome Team is to be friendly. Assisting the committees with greeting people at the Information Booths is a wonderful way for you to meet and get to know people. Handout information is well stocked at each booth. Escorting people to the nursery or Sunday school classes or Souers Hall is helpful. No meetings are required; just your presence with a smile.
