Grandfather Mountain Nature Photography Weekend — 2015 Featured Speakers — Vinny Colucci Presenter and award-winning photographer Vinny Colucci has been an active photographer since 1979 and a shooting professional since 1995. He has photographed from North Carolina to the West Coast and north to the Canadian Rockies. Along with his wife, Annette, Vinny conducts nature and wildlife photography workshops throughout the year. Vinny is an active outdoorsman and a member of Nikon Professional Services and Wimberley Professional Services as well as a sponsored Gura Gear photographer. His images have appeared in multiple publications, including Nature Photographer Magazine, New Bern Travel Magazine, Microwave Journal and various other publications. He also has authored and coauthored multiple books. His speaking engagements have included Popular Photography Magazine, as well as Recreational Equipment Inc. (REI), Florida’s Birding and Photo Fest, Orlando Wetlands Festival and several universities around the country. www.vinnycolucci.com Brian Call Brian Call discovered a passion for nature photography in the years following graduation from Montserrat College of Art, where he studied fine arts and graduated in 1985 with a major in Illustration and a minor in Graphic Design. Through the use of composition and light, his images capture a sense of intimacy and wonder while reflecting his passion and devotion to protecting the natural environment. Brian has been exhibiting his work in both solo and group exhibitions for several years and is exhibiting at Clyde Butcher’s Big Cypress Gallery and at Prints Giclee Shop in Miami, where he is also employed as an Imaging Specialist. His work is collected both nationally and internationally. His photographs have been published in a variety of media including television, print and the world wide web. Born in Cape Town, South Africa, Alistair developed a love for both the ocean and the mountains at a very young age. Whether he was hiking and exploring Table Mountain or surfing the many beaches, his thirst for adventure and the outdoors started early. Capturing and remembering this incredible natural world has always been a passion for him. Alistair leads outdoor landscape photography workshops year-round in North and South Carolina through Mountains to Sea Workshops, where he offers private and group photo excursions and expeditions from Charleston, OBX, Western NC Mountains and Highlands. David’s field workshops are usually small group events in America’s National Parks and other beautiful places. Over the past decade, David has taught programs for the Rocky Mountain School of Photography, the American Society of Media Photographers, FirstLight Photography Workshops and at the Viewfinder Center for Photography in Zermatt, Switzerland. David is also an Adobe Certified Expert in Photoshop Lightroom. His entertaining software teaching style works well for photography students of all skill levels. David is currently creating Photoshop Lightroom video tutorials each week for subscribers to msjphotography.com and teaching photography online at TheArcanum.com. www.davidmarx.com Justin Black Justin Black has been a professional nature photographer since 1995 and is also a writer and photo business professional with extensive and diverse experience as a gallery curator, photo licensing expert and photo editor. He was the longtime general manager of Galen Rowell’s Mountain Light Photography and also served as executive director of the International League of Conservation Photographers (ILCP). Justin has photo-edited several large-format books including “Galen Rowell: A Retrospective” (2006) and “Fresh Water: The Essence of Life” (2010). An experienced photo travel leader to whom the editors of Outdoor Photographer magazine have referred as a “photo safari expert,” Justin has earned a reputation as a highly effective teacher who provides constructive and insightful advice and critique. In 2011, he founded Visionary Wild, a photo travel and workshops company for passionate photographers seeking to bring greater meaning, purpose and quality to their photography. He is a regular contributor of feature articles to Outdoor Photographer magazine, and his assignment clients have included National Geographic Adventure, Sierra, and Nature Conservancy magazines, Fujifilm, Nikon, Mastercard and The World Wildlife Fund.
