St. Boniface Eucharistic Day of Prayer
The Day before First Friday, Each Month
Friends,
In less than two weeks you will be able to “shop” close to
home for some unique items at the St. Bonaventure Hall
Rummage Sale/Bake Sale April 29-30 and May 1. See more
information inside about when you can drop off items and
the times they’ll be open! Tell your friends, as many might
be interested in the rectory and church tours as well. All
proceeds to the new hall!
This weekend we will hold the “Hunger Doesn’t Take a
Vacation” collection to help Catholic Charities fund its
Emergency food pantries. If you did not have a chance to
give, you can still place your donation in next week’s
collection, made out to the church with a note what it is
for.
Contractors, please see our invitation inside for bids for
our St. Boniface Gym Locker Room Remodel
Project. Complete bid packets are available at the Parish
Office, during our normal business hours. For questions,
contact the committee: Mark Schmitt, Ray Payne, Bill
Mescher, Steve Kerkman, Denis Henn and Ben Meis.
Mark your calendars! On Sunday, May 15 at the 8:00 am
Mass, St. Bonaventure Parish will be honoring their World
Marriage Day couples, Senior Graduates, Altar Servers, and
First Communicants. A coffee and roll reception will be
held at the parish hall, following Mass.
The results of the St. Boniface Men’s Circle donations will
be published soon. If you haven’t given, it’s not too late.
Please give it to your circle leader this week. Thanks!
I want to thank Louise Schindler for the time she spent
with the Sunday Youth Group students each month! It is a
blessing to have parishioners committed to passing on the
faith.
Please join me in praying for the students who will be
confirmed this fall, on October 2. Confirmation Classes
wrapped up last week and I want to thank Anne Meis and
Chris Grundmayer for being my assistants with the
classes. I couldn’t do it without their organization!
Thank you to the St. Boniface/Pope John Students who,
when they cleaning up our community on Friday
afternoon, also cleaned up around our parish grounds and
flowerbeds. Thanks also to the women who helped them
out!! Everything looks great!

Lighthouse CD-- Jesus the Bridegroom:
The Greatest Love Story Ever Told
Dr. Brant Pitre is an enthusiastic and engaging speaker
who regularly lectures throughout the country. In this
stunning talk, Dr. Pitre applies his knowledge of the
Jewish roots of Christianity to the very heart of the
Gospel: the love of Christ. You will learn what it really
means to have a “personal relationship” with Jesus Christ
as Lord, Savior, and Bridegroom.
Lighthouse media CD’s are in the
west entrance of church entrance.

The Jubilee Pilgrimage to St. Cecilia Cathedral on
Pentecost will be held May 15. This pilgrimage is a
wonderful opportunity for faithful people from all our
parishes to make a pilgrimage of mercy and unity on the
Solemnity of Pentecost. This is an occasion which will be
long remembered by families, confirmandi, neophytes
and those with devotion to Divine Mercy. It is also a
special gift for all involved in ministry of any kind. Please
share with others in your networks and join in the
pilgrimage. Information regarding this pilgrimage can be
found at http://archomaha.org/jubileepilgrimage/.
Pray for the Hungry
We live in a hungry world, Lord. Please help us to
remember that in our world, where kitchen tables are
full and grocery stores abound, many people even in
this country go hungry or have to make a choice
between food on the table and other necessities of life.
Help us to share what we have with all those in need.
We live in a hungry world, Lord. Please help us
remember that in our world there are many people
who have disposable income, and yet there are many
who live from paycheck to paycheck. Help us to work
for a more just economy beginning with a living wage
for all. We live in a hungry world, Lord. Please help us
remember that in a world where the ideals of equality
and the dignity of each person should abound, there
are many all over the world denied these rights; men
and women are held as prisoners for living their faith
with conviction. Help us to work for equality and
dignity and to ensure religious freedom both here and
abroad. We live in a hungry world, Lord. Please help us
remember that, as we raise our voices to you in prayer,
there are many, even in this country, who do not know
you or deny your existence. Help all us to truly know
that our lives and our hearts are restless until they rest
in You. Help us to do all we can, with your constant
help, to satisfy our very hungry world, Lord. Amen.
