Dear Church Family,
By now most of you have either heard about or attended the “Great Reveal” services held on July 21 and 22. At that time we shared our visions of where we believe God is leading
Emmanuel. The response to the “Great Reveal” has been most encouraging, even be-
yond our expectations. It is a joy to know that you have enthusiastically embraced these
ideas.
We want to take this time to give you a progress report. Our first service of our branch
campus, Emmanuel West, will be held on October 7 at 11:15 am at the Westwood Plaza
Theatre. A team has been meeting and prayerfully planning the details for the premiere
services. Pastor Dave’s messages will focus on how to “slay the giants” that we battle in our lives, i.e. fear, guilt, failure, etc. Jeremy Ferguson will be leading an unplugged style
of worship. Just a reminder-there is no childcare at these services. If you are interested
in helping in any way please contact Pastor Dave at 266-4117 ext. 204 or
dave@emmanuelbaptist.net.
We also want to update you on our Special Needs/Disability ministry. Sue Miller has
compiled the survey data. We are now in the process of evaluating the information that
we have received. The next step will be to assemble a team to go over these results and
then develop a strategy. Many of you remember the powerful video about Joel
Sonnenberg, who was burned over 85 percent of his body when he was a toddler. Joel is
now in charge of the Special Needs Ministry at Calvary Chapel in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Because of Pastor Ray and Arch’s trip to Florida to see this ministry and meet Joel, we have gained invaluable information as well as developed a close friendship. Joel has
agreed to share his story with us on April 27 & 28, 2013. This is an event you won’t want to miss. Be sure to mark your calendars.
We will give you regular updates on the progress of these exciting new ministries. Please
join us in praying continually for God’s leading.
God is good…
Pastors Ray and Dave

Thanksgiving
offering
This year, our Thanksgiving offering will be going towards our future
Special Needs Ministry and also the Westmont outreach service
called “Emmanuel West”. These ministries were recently presented to
our congregation! Please pray about what part The Lord may have you
do in these vital outreaches of Emmanuel. Letters and envelopes will be
sent out in the near future. This will give you further information on
these new ministries along with the opportunity to give as you feel led.

New offering envelopes will be in the Welcome Center starting the weekend of Dec 1, 2012.
They will be located, by the coat hangers, on the right side of the Welcome Center (as you
are walking into the Sanctuary). If you would like a giving statement at the end of the year,
you must use offering envelopes. If you are not currently using church offering envelopes and
would like a receipt, you may pick up a box of envelopes at the Welcome Center counter. If you
do use envelopes, please be sure to pick up your new box with your name on it.
Please keep in mind, all offerings received at the church by December 31, 2012 will be recorded
on your 2012 statement. All offerings received at the church after December 31, 2012 will be
recorded on your 2013 statement.
The month of October is Pastor appreciation month. Be sure to show your
appreciation to all our Pastors and church leaders.
We’d like to especially recognize
Pastor Ray’s 30 plus years of service
at Emmanuel. Pastor Ray returned to
Emmanuel in 1982 from his Pastorate in
Washington, PA. Be sure to send him a
note of thanks and appreciation for his
unwavering love and leadership.
