30-45 YEARS OLD
Age cannot be classified as it once was. To be 20 in 2015,
does not signal immaturity, to be 50 isn’t to be out of touch.
An appreciation for intelligent fashion and luxury editorial
transcends generations. In particular, the L’Officiel woman
between 30 and 45 is one who cultivates personal balance
and professional success, embracing the reward and choice
that comes with it.

using the 3DAP Distiller Settings,
which can be obtained from
www.3dap.com.au.
3DAPV3_PAPERTYPE-1_300.icc
■ File names should not exceed
20 characters.
■ Use only alpha numeric and
NOT symbol characters (eg:

Run of book spreads Any critical images
running across the gutter should be double
imaged 3mm either side of the spine,
within the trim size width. It is highly
recommended that words not be separated
crossing the gutter and that type should be
a minimum of 7mm away from each side
of the spine.
■ All fonts and images should be
embedded and no colour management
applied. All pixel-based images should
have a resolution of 300dpi and bitmap
tifs (line art) a resolution of at least
1200dpi.

DELIVERY ADDRESS:
Level 12, 1 Queens Road, Melbourne, Victoria 3004
Files to be sent via Wetransfer via
graphics@lofficiel.com.au
OR
To be sent via Adstream via Cielo Publishing
Booking reference will be generated by sales and supplied with your booking form
To find out more about adstream, please visit www.adstream.com.au
■ All files must have register and
trim marks.
■ All pages should be supplied with 5mm
bleed on all sides.
■ Screen ruling 150lpi.
■ Total ink coverage should fall between
280% and 310%. This compensates
for dot gain on press and ensures
maximum shadow detail retained with
minimum ink set-off. Exceeding 310%,
will result in loss of detail in shadow.
■ Screen Angles: Cyan – 15°; Magenta –
45°; Yellow – 90°; Black – 75°.
■ Solid black panels should carry 40%
Cyan to make a ‘rich black’.
■ All live type should be kept a minimum
of 8mm from all trim edges (this
includes key numbers etc), and within
type area specified, to allow for paper
shrinkage and variation in binding
process.
■ Type less than 10pt should not
be reversed out from more than
two colours.
■ Thin lines, box rules and small type
should ideally be produced in one
colour. Minimum weight for lines
should be 0.15pt.
■ Do not use hairlines, which are
susceptible to disappearing when
making plates.
■ Where colours butt up against one
another, the dominant colour should be
spread into the less dominant colour.
D O U B L E - PA G E S P R E A D S
Cover spreads no double imaging
of images running across gutter is
required as pages will be planned with
white space in gutter to allow for glue
adhesion. however, please note that 6mm
in the gutter will be lost and should be
considered in the final creative.
D I G I TA L P R O O F S
■ Proofs must be made from the
final PDF file (not the graphic
application the file was created in).
■ All digital files must be
accompanied by a colourcalibrated proof – also known as a
contract proof.
■ Proofs must be sized at 100%.
■ Proofs supplied that are not
colour calibrated can only be
used as a guide and not as a true
representation of the final printed
product. A colour laser copy is not
accepted as a contract proof.

F I L E P R E PA R AT I O N
■ All images must be saved as
process CMYK.
■ Ensure all files are saved as
TIFF, PSD, EPS
■ If an image has been clearcut or has a
clipping path, save the image as an EPS.
■ When saving a TIFF file from
Photoshop, ensure LzW compression is
not checked.
■ Resolution of 300ppi for images and
lineart at a minimum of 1200ppi.
■ Do not use truetype fonts – they will
not output.
■ Do not deepetch, crop or colourise
images within layout program as
they will not separate properly. Use
Photoshop or Illustrator to do this
before placing into layout program.
■ Ensure all required fonts are active
(screen & printer) when creating
Postscript or PDF files.
■ Ensure that picture boxes in Quark are
not filled with a colour of ‘none’ for
TIFFs. Fill picture boxes with black and
set the percentage to 0%. This reduces
the chance of ‘jaggies’.
■ When enlarging images supplied
digitally, try not to exceed 130% as
they will lose their sharpness and may
appear jaggard.
■ When saving EPS files from Photoshop,
ensure that no ‘halftone screens’ or
‘transfer functions’ are present in the files.
■ Convert all ‘fonts to paths’ in an
illustration application before saving
an EPS file.
■ Ensure high-resolution images are
placed in the layout program.
■ Trapping should be applied before
making postscript or PDF files.
DISCLAIMER
While every step is taken to ensure files match the
proof supplied, the onus is firmly with the supplier
of material to ensure files are correct. If material is
supplied without a contract proof, there will be no
responsibility taken for any colour variation in the
printing process.
