Install Roof Module 1.1 Safety Notes The AutoFarm system must be powered OFF when installing or removing the roof module. The supplied locking pin or a padlock must be in place whenever the vehicle is in operation. The roof module must be removed when transporting the vehicle at speeds above 30 mph. Make sure that you are in a stable position on the tractor platform when removing the roof module, so that you do not fall or drop the roof module. 1.2 Install the Mounting Rail Remove the cab roof bolts. 1 Align the mounting rail to mounting holes and fasten the mounting rail to the roof. The lettered holes and the dummy cable connector must be on the left side of the tractor. left side of tractor 2 1.3 Mount the Roof Module Slide the roof module into locked position. The cable connection must be on the left side of the tractor, facing the rear. Make sure that the spring lock is in place. locked position 3 Insert and close the locking pin through the holes in the roof module and the mounting rail. Note that a padlock can replace the locking pin. locking pin Attach the radio modem antenna. Note: The antenna should be attached “hand tight” - do not use any tools to tighten the antenna. 4 2. Install the User Terminal 2.1 Assemble and Mount the User Terminal Bracket Remove hole covers from the cab post. threads for mounting bracket Mount the bracket assembly. 5 2.2 Mount and Adjust the User Terminal Attach the adjustable arm to the user terminal. mounting plate Remove the travel stop on the bracket assembly. 6 Install user terminal arm onto the cab bracket. Replace the travel stop. 7 Remove adjustment bolt caps. Adjust user terminal arm tightness. 8 Replace adjustment bolt caps and adjust user terminal viewing angle. 9 3. Install the Wheel Angle Sensor (WAS) 3.1 Mount Tie Rod and Sensor Brackets Mount the sensor bracket on the left side of the tractor just above the axel drive line. Mount the linkage arm bracket. 10 3.2 Mount the Sensor and Connect the Linkage Arms 3.3 Adjust the Sensor and Linkage Arms Adjust linkage arm length and/or linkage bracket position to obtain between 3200 and 3800 counts. Turn the wheels all the way in both directions to make sure the linkage arms can move without interference. Note: This step is done during the calibration and tuning steps. 11 4. Assemble and Mount the Hydraulic Valve 4.1 Install the Hydraulic Valve Remove electrical panel bolts and fasten the bracket into place between the tractor frame and the electrical panel. The final bracket extension plate will be bolted in these two locations. Mount the hydraulic valve. 12 5. Install the Hydraulic Hoses 5.1 Assemble the Hydraulic Hoses Assemble power beyond hoses as shown. (Hose length is not shown to scale below.) Original right and left Steering hoses that will be opened to connect the AutoSteer hoses Remove this bracket and pull back the electrical harness to gain access to the original tractor steering hoses Open the tractor’s steering lines and connect AutoSteer IN/OUT hoses. (Note: On the ILS vehicles, size adapters (not shown) are required between the AutoSteer “steer out” hoses and the vehicle steering line. A different vehicle is shown below.) Connect the right “Steer Out” AutoSteer hose to the top steel steering line. Connect the left “Steer Out” AutoSteer hose to the bottom steel steering line. Connect the right “Steer In” hose to the top hose on the tractor steering unit. Connect the left “Steer In” hose to the bottom hose on the tractor steering unit. Note: Right steering hoses must be connected to right steering lines and Left steering hoses must be connected to left steering lines. Check for oil leaks after final assembly and the tractor engine has been turned on and steered. 16 Attach steer IN/OUT hoses to the hydraulic valve.
