Welcome
The History
B eest o n F ields
Beeston Fields is a charming, family owned
estate established in the early 19th century.
Secluded amidst 135 acres of parkland on
the outskirts of Nottingham, it is a part of
the county’s heritage. Originally named the
Belle Vue Estate, Alfred Thomas built the
main house in 1837. The Fellows family then
lived at Beeston Fields for many years and
Elizabeth Fellows’ was the first recorded
wedding at the house in 1865.
Sir Harold Bowden, founder of the Raleigh
Cycle Company, acquired the house as a
country escape around 1912 and later sold
it to former Lord Mayor of Nottingham,
Fredrick Mitchell. In December 1923 Fred
Mitchell opened a prestigious members’
golf club at Beeston Fields and the estate
has remained in the family ever since.

Over three generations they have provided
hospitality, locally farmed fresh food, hand
picked wines and a warm welcome. Offering
a wealth of facilities delivered by an award
winning events team, Beeston Fields is a
wonderful venue for any occasion.

The Hous
The tree lined Old Drive provides a dappled
approach to the traditional country house
with stunning views slowly opening across
the beautiful 18 hole parkland golf course.
The interior which still retains many period
features has been tastefully restored and
updated to give a sense of contemporary
style and elegance.
The Cocktail bar
The oak panelled entrance and feature
fire place provide the perfect setting for a
drinks reception. The Cocktail Bar opens
out to give breath-taking views across the
golf course, offering a beautiful back-drop
that changes with the seasons.
The Dining Room
The oak panelled Dining Room is the
grandest room in the house. The central
chandelier gives a sense of opulence whilst
the hand carved doorways show skilled
craftsmanship at its finest. The Dining Room
seats 30 guests for an intimate sit down
meal or 25 guests for a civil ceremony.
The Sun Lounge
Tastefully decorated in a palette of neutral
tones this room is the largest in the house.
Full length windows offer spectacular views
across the golf course and give a wonderful
sunny aspect even on a winter’s day. The full
length drapes frame the scenery perfectly
while complimenting the style of the house.
The Sun Lounge is ideal for ceremonies and
celebrations of up to 120 guests.

The MARQUEE
Hidden behind the house is the
original Victorian Walled Garden.
Built shortly after the house it
was a feature of its time. Used
predominantly for supplying the
family with fresh fruit and vegetables
but also incorporating a formal
English flower garden.
Fred Mitchell was an enthusiastic
grower of peaches and grapes and
treasured the garden until the 1970s
when it fell into disrepair. Fond
childhood memories of picking
fruit and flowers with Uncle Fred
inspired his great niece, Philippa
Marshall, to lovingly restore the
garden in recent years.
Retaining the feature red brick walls
and chimneys and the wrought
iron detail has created a charming
backdrop for the abundance of
plants and wildlife that now flourish
within the walls of this magical
haven. Partly hidden behind a line of
pleached hornbeams, the Georgian
style marquee sits comfortably on
the spacious lawns, holding up to
220 guests for exclusive events. It is
this graceful combination of history,
nature and contemporary design
that makes The Walled Garden a
truly exceptional venue.

Civil Ceremonies
Beeston Fields is licensed to hold civil ceremonies in both the Sun Lounge and the Dining Room. An outdoor
blessing can be held in the Walled Garden, using the gazebo and the covered terrace. The wedding suites will
be decorated for your ceremony with a red carpet aisle and a formal flower display for the Registrar’s table.
Chair covers and other decorations can be hired for an additional charge. Room hire charges are as follows.

When it comes to our menus we believe in providing the best of British.
We take pride in serving the most delicious homemade dishes and our bespoke
menus are designed with thought and attention to detail. Our passionate Chefs
cook fresh dishes from the kitchens and gardens using only the best ingredients.
Many of our recipes are tailored to use our home grown produce from the Walled
Garden and the rest are locally sourced. We seasonally pick our own apples,
harvest grapes fresh from the old vine and garnish with our flowers and herbs.

THE
At Beeston Fields we believe that
superior wines are essential for
complementing fine food. That’s why we
hand pick our collection ensuring you get
top quality wines from around the world.
We would recommend allowing either a ¼
or ½ bottle per person during the wedding
breakfast which will be placed on the table for
guests to help themselves. You may also want
to consider providing bottled water or jugs of
orange juice during the meal.
For the speeches any of our sparkling wines or
champagnes will make a fantastic toast drink.
