Page 4 Page 2 Shop Class: A Look Back Shop Class: A Look Back McKinnon Furniture’s spring “build it yourself” shop class was a roaring success. A full class of fun and enthusiastic McKinnon Furniture fans and budding woodworkers came together one Saturday in May to build their own tables. Each participant selected the wood to be used and completed all the steps to create their very own end table or sofa table. McKinnon woodworkers Sheri Buck and Chad Kingsley led each person through the process of cutting, gluing, drilling, biscuit cutting, sanding, sanding, sanding, oiling and assembling their table. To sign up for our next class on September 21st, 2013, call Karinne at (206) 768-2484! It was a very fun group who helped and teased each other, and had lots of laughs throughout the day. Everyone took home with them a beautiful, handcrafted piece of furniture that they made themselves. One called the class “a great experience that made me treasure my McKinnon furniture even more.” Dovetail – A Quarterly Newsletter – Summer 2013 – www.mckinnonfurniture.com McKinnon Newsletter Summer 2013 final.indd 1 1 7/12/13 12:38 PM M C K I N N O N F U R N I T U R E Hand-Forged Lighting Meets Hand-Crafted Furniture New to McKinnon Furniture is a line of Made in the U.S.A., hand-forged metal lighting from Hubbardton Forge.
