During the past 30 years FTMSGlobal has continually advanced the
number of programs offered and the facilities provided for student
study. FTMS now has thirteen campuses in ten countries built up over
its 30-year history.
However not content to stand still and in preparation for the gaining of
University College status and associated projected growth and ever
increasing standards, FTMS in Malaysia is moving to a new campus
in Cyberjaya which is twice the size of the TPM campus. Cyberjaya is
Malaysia’s high-tech global investment hub. FTMS will continue with
their City centre campus in Central Market.
The Cyberjaya campus has 134,000 sq.ft of floor space, allowing
FTMS to leverage upwards all the facilities that students have become
used to and, in preparation for the gaining of University College
status, to offer much more besides. For the technically minded the
new FTMS’s new building is set in a lush green landscape with water
features, has a centralised air conditioning system, lifts, a gym, userfriendly disabled student/staff access and facilities and 24-hour
security services. The architecture is strikingly ultra-modern and the
building is fully fitted for university use. An imposing atrium to the
main concourse of the building commands attention, lifts the spirits
and prepares all who enter for a creative, positive, inspiring, ‘can-do’
time.

Malaysian centres. As an MSC status organization it is most appropriate that FTMS’ main campus and headquarters are located in
Cyberjaya.” stated the college’s principal, Dr Sajilal Divakaran.

FTMS College is well known for its affiliation with universities in the
UK such as the University of East London (UEL), Anglia Ruskin
University (ARU), Leeds Beckett University (LBU) and Oxford
Brookes University (OBU) who offer programmes at both Bachelor
and Master degree levels. Programmes offered at Bachelor level
include Software Engineering, Computer Networks, Business
Information Systems, Accounting and Finance and International
Management and at Master level Computer Systems Engineering,
MBA and Information Management.
Upon the gaining of University College status new degrees will be
offered within the disciplines of Information Technology, Accounting
and Finance and Business as well as the discipline of Engineering.
The college’s principal, Dr Sajilal Divakaran, also stated “Known as
‘the capital of creativity’ Cyberjaya is both a university city and a
leading business centre and the ideal location for the forthcoming
FTMS University College. As its name implies, it is a very high-tech
centre. FTMS will be joining six higher learning institutions that
have already made the move to Cyberjaya”.

Cyberjaya already has 23,000 students and is a student-friendly
place. Easily accessible and with appropriate services and
ambiance Cyberjaya has a population of about 75,000 of which
40,000 are knowledge workers.
Since 56% of Cyberjaya’s
population are relatively young, aged 20 to 44, there is a lot of
potential for growth in student numbers.
In contrast to Technology Park Malaysia campus the FTMS
Cyberjaya campus will be in the centre of a hive of activity, close to
shopping malls, street malls, restaurants, food outlets, coffee shops,
high class hotels, banks and sports facilities as well as abundant
graduate-type employment opportunities.
Access to and from the campus is provided by a network of
highways. It takes just 20 minutes to get to either the Kuala Lumpur
City Centre or the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) from
Cyberjaya. Access is also available by taking an express train
(ERL) from KL Sentral to Putrajaya Sentral Station, and thereafter
hopping onto a feeder bus to get to FTMS’s new campus.
Cyberjaya’s Dedicated Transportation System (DTS) is also a
convenient choice for knowledge workers and students commuting
to and from Cyberjaya. A Park and Ride facility further encourages
commuters to park their vehicles at designated car parks for free,
and to use buses for their onwards journey around Cyberjaya.
Apart from the above FTMS will also be working out the best way to
make use of the FTMS buses to take students and staff to and from
the new campus.
