August & September 2014 LYNNWOOD LINK On September 20, 2014 we are having our Annual CORN ROAST PARTY!!! This is family fun event with games, prizes, Dinner, and Dance with a live DJ and Drinks for both young and old. What’s happening at the Corn Roast? There will be many games ranging from a hockey target shoot, three legged race to an egg roll competition, and many more. We will also have some fantastic prizes to award from some of our greatest supporters from around the community. Kids did we mention that we will have the city’s best BOUNCEY CASTLE with a SLIDE!!! Dinner will be both hamburgers and hot dogs (chicken Dogs) along with numerous salads and chips oh and of course the Roasted Corn!!! Cost for dinner is $7/person or $25/family of 4+ We will also be selling our Community League Memberships at the event. Our Memberships entitle you and your family to a free family swim each Saturday from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Jasper Place Pool (September through June) and skate tags for public skating, valid at any City of Edmonton rink and also Includes a FREE family pass to any WEM attraction!!! Membership costs are: Family – $30.00 Single – $15.00 The Party will start at 3:00 pm followed by family fun games. Dinner will start being served at 6:00 pm with drinks and dancing to follow. This is a great event for the kids of all ages. Come out meet and your neighbours! But with the passing of the summer season comes the beautiful colors of the fall. Thanks to all who have continued to keep our ravine area so pristine, what a beautiful area we live in! With fall now here or just around the corner comes a very busy time of year in our community. Welcome back to school to the teachers and students of both Lynnwood Elementary and Our Lady of Victories. To our recent grade 6 students now off to Junior high we wish you the best of luck! I am very excited for our upcoming CORN ROAST PARTY; our volunteers have worked very hard to set up some great events that will be fun for all. To our new members in the community I personally invite you, your family and friends out to join us and meet your neighbors, trust me this is not an event you want to miss. Another Hockey Season is getting underway as we speak. To our Lynnwood Community Teams I cannot wait to see you on ice and look forward to seeing what Jill and Cory have planned this year.
