We will be located in the heart of downtown, saturated with restaurants, sightseeing opportunities, and many other activities. Kentucky Derby: While we may not be holding convention during the Kentucky Derby, there are still great opportunities to experience Churchill Downs and see the derby history. The Kentucky Derby Museum, which sits on the front steps of historic Churchill Downs, is a very visible part of our community as one of Louisville’s premiere attractions. Graciously welcoming over 210,000 guests through the doors each year and giving them a first hand look at the event for which Louisville, Kentucky is known worldwide. The Museum aims to provide a lasting impression of tradition, hospitality and pride to our many visitors. Bourbon Country: has a new capital: bourbon city. Well, maybe not so new. Before Prohibition, downtown Louisville was the heartbeat of the bourbon industry, with Whiskey Row home to some 50 distilleries and whiskey-related business. Until recently, hitting the restaurants and bars on the Urban Bourbon Trail was as close as you could get to the pulse of Bourbon Country in Louisville. But now, Bourbon is back where it belongs, right in the heart of downtown Louisville where there is now plenty to love for the bourbon enthusiast. The city’s first bourbon tourist attraction, the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience, will immerse you in the native spirit. Louisville Slugger Museum: The Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory showcases the history of the Louisville Slugger brand of baseball bats made by Hillerich & Bradsby, and of baseball in general. Inside the 16,000 square feet of exhibit and archive space, production of the bats is presented, along with historical examples of bats. The museum features a mix of hands-on exhibits and memorabilia. Visitors can hold a bat used in an actual game from legends like Mickey Mantle, David Ortiz, Cal Ripken Jr., and more. You can stand behind home plate and experience what it feels like to have a 90 mile per hour fast ball flying at you. The building also serves as their corporate headquarters and a production facility. Muhammad Ali Center: Float like a butterfly and sting like a bee while enjoying this Louisville attraction. The Muhammad Ali Center is a multicultural center with an awardwinning museum dedicated to the life of Muhammad Ali. The Center museum captures the inspiration derived from the story of Muhammad Ali’s incredible life and the six core principles that have fueled his journey.
