Heisey Collectors of Texas Study Club
The March meeting for the Heisey Collectors of Texas was a fieldtrip to
Grapevine, Texas. We met for lunch at the Spring Creek Barbecue Restaurant.
There were eleven members present and two guests, Carolyn and Regis Farley.
Before the meeting we attended the Metroplex Looking Glass Show wearing our
“I Love Heisey” badges and carrying our” Hooked on Heisey” tote bags. The
show featured a large number of Heisey pieces and everyone enjoyed looking for
the perfect Heisey piece to add to their collection. Our members, Gregg and
Candy Freeman had a very attractive booth at the show.
President Morgan announced that the glass show for the June 12 – 15, 2013,
Convention will take place at the Skating Rink on Sharon Valley Road. All the
meetings and seminars will take place at the Museum.
Sharon and Mike Sweeney have agreed to serve as project coordinators for the
Heisey Glass Auction which will occur during the annual Convention. Our club
will be donating a piece of Heisey glass for this auction.
Charles Baird will display a table setting in Zircon during the Convention
The next meeting of the HCT will at the home of Sally Lancaster on Saturday,
May 4 , 2013. It will be a week earlier than normal because of Mother’s Day.
Remember this will be our annual benefit auction so start thinking about which
Heisey items you want to bring to the auction to donate. Details to follow later.
