Happy Fall Everyone!
It is that time of year again, when we are all busy with school, homework, sports, school activities,
hunting, working, watching football, not to mention our day to day responsibilities, and getting ready
for that bitter cold and white stuff that is inevitably headed our way. Well, here at the Oyster Ridge
BOCES we are well into the school semesters at New Frontier High School, Kemmerer High School
and Western Wyoming Community College. We have thirteen Dual Enrollment Students each taking
at least one college level class. The Dual Enrollment Program is where a student can enroll in a
college class and get college and high school credit at the same time. The Dual Enrollment Students
are enrolled in online classes that are approved by the high school and the BOCES. In the spring there
will be around twenty students taking advantage of our Concurrent Program at the high school. The
Concurrent Program is where a student can enroll in a high school class and get high school and
college credit at the same time, and their classes are located at the high school. We are very excited to
have these students taking advantage of these opportunities that we are very fortunate to offer. If you
have questions about Dual or Concurrent classes please see Ms. Ferrarini at Kemmerer High School
or Jennifer at the BOCES in the Burgoon Building.
We hope everyone as a great fall! Good luck students!

Featured ED2GO Classes:
Writing Effective Grant Proposals
Preparing successful grant proposals to receive funding from corporations or
foundations requires careful research, meticulous preparation, and graceful
writing. Grant administrators tell us that many grant requestors have no real
understanding of the proposal writing process and as a result, their worthy causes
lose out.
If you learn how to avoid the errors that lead to the rejection of your proposal, you
will be better prepared to help the causes you most admire. This course will walk
you through all of the essential steps--including an important discussion of what
you must do when the grant arrives!
In this course, you'll learn how to become fully familiar with the institution or
project for which you are requesting support. You'll get valuable guidance in
preparing a background statement and a brief financial statement to support your
request. You'll also research some charitable foundation and corporate giving
sources.
Then, you'll learn how to put everything together so you can assemble, write, and
submit complete grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and wealthy
individuals for any number of your pet projects.
QuickBooks 2016 Series
Whether you're a small business owner or an accountant in need of a QuickBooks
refresher, this series of courses will teach you the skills you need to navigate the
latest version of the software like a pro.
These courses cover everything from creating statements to more advanced
functions, including batch invoicing and report generation. And, when you
purchase both courses together, you can get them at a discounted rate!
Enroll today and learn all of the new features of QuickBooks 2016!
Nonprofit Fundraising Essentials
Take your first step toward a rewarding career in fundraising for nonprofit
organizations! First, you'll explore the skills you'll need to become a successful
fundraiser. After that, you'll discover where the best corporate and foundation
fundraising jobs are and how to apply for them.
Next, you'll delve into every area of nonprofit fundraising—annual funds, special
events, corporate relations, foundation relations, major gifts, and planned giving.
You'll also learn about capital campaigns and find out why they're a crucial
element of nonprofit fundraising.
Along the way, you'll view real-life examples of writing projects, from gift
acknowledgment letters to proposals, and you'll hone your own writing skills. In
addition, you'll explore fundraising software tools you can use to track your efforts
and enhance your results.
By the end of the course, you'll have a wealth of new nonprofit fundraising ideas,
and you'll be well on your way to success in this exciting career field.
