The sessions are divided into four areas (or strands) for growth: Foundation, Resources, Profiles and Impact. The sessions are contributing to the theme of the Global Conference: A Vision for Growth. Read more about the areas and sessions in the Global Conference Brochure, which you can download from the Global Conference Website. We’re also proud to present our Alumni Panel, who will share their stories about, among other things, how CISV helped them to get to where they are today. The panellists are: • Caecilia Johanna van Peski - Deployed to the Organization of Security and Cooperation in Europe special monitoring mission to Ukraine. • Luca Crudeli - Private Sector Development Expert working to foster private-public dialogue, innovation and public reform in developing countries. • Ronald Saborio - Costa Rican Ambassador, president of the World Trade Organization dispute settlement body. • Per Olsson - State Secretary for the Ministry of Culture in Sweden. Member of the Green Party. The panel will be moderated by: • Omri Marcus - Founder of “Comedy for a Change” - an international conference on comedy as a driving force for social change In addition to this, we have over 60 session presenters who have all been selected from those who submitted session proposals to the Conference Working Group. IJBC Please note that two IJBC-sessions start on the afternoon of the 4th of August. That means they start before the official programme begins. So if you plan to attend these sessions, you may want to arrange your travel arrangements accordingly. The IJBC sessions are open to everyone! We encourage you to consider selecting one to see what IJBC is all about! They will definitely be high-energy sessions! They will focus on one of three “threads”: Link: Exploring ways to link and grow together as people, JBs, and a global movement. How can we collaborate every day of the year? Look Ahead: Delving into the potential of youth impact in our organization and how we communicate that to ourselves and the rest of the world. Let’s strategize how to move forward as an organization together! Learn: Junior Branch takes a unique approach to experiential learning and to CISV’s educational content areas. In this thread, we will work on the 2015 content area and develop ways to focus on it in the upcoming six months. 04 Mosaic Activities by CISV Norway During the Global Conference CISV Norway will offer two Mosaic activities, which can be identified as Impact sessions. Both of the sessions will enable you to gain attitudes, skills and knowledge important for your personal development. It will also help you recognize how you can use them to make your Chapter stronger and how to impact your local community. A-M01 Conflict & Resolution Participants attending this session will gain a better understanding of CISV peace education, as the activity will focus on this year’s content area, conflict and resolution. You will learn how to recognize and approach conflicts in your local environment. We hope that by attending this session you will be inspired to make a difference in your local communities. A-M02 Are you OnBoard? Would you like to be a part of developing a CISV board game? Do you want to know how youth in CISV can contribute to their Chapters’ growth? Do you prefer experiential and fun learning? If you answered yes to any of the above-mentioned questions, then this session is for you! CISV On Board is an innovative Mosaic Project, led by youth and aims to develop a board game. It will serve as a new educational tool for peace education on a local level. During this session you will have a chance to not only playtest the game, but also get an insight into the work behind it. While waiting for the Global Conference and this amazing session, you can follow the On Board Team - Agathe, Sigrid, Håkon and Rasmus - on onboard.cisv.no 05 Global Conference Culture The primary purpose of the Global Conference is to provide a platform for Chapter volunteers to network, share best practices, get motivated and inspired to bring back a great set of tools to each Chapter. As such, the Conference culture needs to foster the best of CISV values and principles. The Global Conference should give CISV volunteers a more complete understanding of CISV as an organization as a whole and pave the way to help envision the future of our organization. Our goal is for all of the participants attending to keep an open mind, practice tolerance and understanding and come with an attitude of wanting to learn, as well as contribute their knowledge to others and the organization as a whole. The success of CISV’s first Global Conference relies on us adopting what we call an ‘open door culture’ that is inclusive, welcoming, safe and comfortable for all our Chapter volunteers. Alchol consumption The legal drinking age in Norway is 18, and the conference hotel will provide alcoholic beverages for purchase in legally approved locations, such as bar(s) and restaurants. Norway’s alcohol rules are strict and prohibit the consumption of any outside purchased alcohol in any public spaces in the hotel, with permanent ejection from the hotel property. This consequence stated by the hotel policy. Conference rules Badge: You will be given a nametag; you are required to wear it at all times.
