They practice tirelessly for the chance to compete for (and win) championships at the conference, regional, and national levels; they maintain the highest standards for academic success; they show support for the area they call home during the academic year by giving their time to community organizations. These experiences impact their lives by building physical strength, knowledge, and character. Our student-athletes make us proud each day. Between competitions and coursework, teams gave their time and talents to such causes as the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk, the United Way, Central Blood Bank, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Several team members also received All-America and national championship honors—all of this while excelling academically. As we move through the 2011-2012 academic year, IUP student-athletes will demonstrate, day in and day out, that the number of accomplishments and accolades will multiply once again. By supporting your favorite team or teams through the Crimson Hawks Athletic Association, you can further increase opportunities to excel and share in their successes. The support of IUP alumni, fans, and friends provides necessary scholarship and operational dollars to enable our coaches to provide experiences that enhance growth. These experiences are carried with the student-athletes everywhere—be it the playing field, the classroom, or the community. I invite you to join me and the IUP coaching staff in our mission. Your support is vital to our success. Sincerely, The Foundation for IUP is a 501(c)(3) organization. Gifts to the foundation are tax deductible as per IRS regulations.
