The Host
Norway’s capital Oslo and H.O.G. Oslo
Chapter wish all bikers welcome to
H.O.G. National Rally 2013.
Oslo Chapter was founded 25th of April 1996,
and had its charter meeting at Tyrigrava, an
important meeting point for all bikers. The
chapter has 375 members being the largest
chapter in Norway. Our activity level throughout the year is good and the Chapter officers
plan activities for our
members.
Oslo is an old city full of history and
interesting locations worth seeing. The
city was founded in 1049 by Harald III
Haardraade (means tough ruler), but there
was a Christian settlement on the same location even before that time. The first king who
actually lived in Oslo was Haakon the 5th
(1299-1319). Oslo is the capital of Norway
and the Royal Castle, the Parliament and the
ministries are located here. Oslo is also the
undisputed cultural center of Norway, and
famous international artists visit our city on a
regular basis.
The city has many museums, opera, world
famous sports facilities, a medieval fortress
and many green parks. Oslo is located at the
end of a long fjord surrounded by forests with
recreational opportunities in the immediate
vicinity of the city. The city is widely known
for the Winter Olympic in 1952 and the World
Ski Championship in 2011.
The travel connections to the rest of Europe
are plentiful. You may arrive in Oslo by road,
air and by ferries from Denmark and
Germany.

arrange several events together throughout
the season.

your bike serviced or buy some spare parts if
needed.

Accommodation
Our main hotel for the National Rally 2013 is
Rica
Thon Helsfyr Hotel

hundred meters from the rally arena. We
also have good agreements with other hotels
in the area. You can order single or double
rooms, standard or more luxurious suites. On
the website booking.hog.no you will find all
contact details. We recommend that you book
well in advance. There will also be camping
available for those who
prefer that. We offer guarded parking inside
the arena for all guest bikers.
The Venue
We have an agreement with the City of Oslo
to host the Rally at Valle Hovin Stadium. The
arena is widely used for large arrangements
and concerts and is therefore well suited for
our purpose.
Public communications are close by.
Oslo can offer lots of different activities. You
can choose among what we organize or you
can find your own things to do. The rally will
have its own interesting shopping street,
tasty drinks, live music and good
entertainment.

Post
Ride

Registration
After the Rally, there will be an option to
join the Post Ride, there will be arranged
a guided tour on exciting motorcycle roads
through some of the finest mountain and
fjord scenery Norway can provide. The tour
will be 4 days and 3 nights. We start in Oslo
on Sunday morning and are back in Oslo on
Wednesday afternoon.
The Post Ride will be guided in a safe and
competent way by our skilled Road Captains.
It will be relatively short day stages of 200
- 250 km and good opportunity to stop at attractions along the way and plenty of time for
socializing in the evenings. The accommodations are reserved at good hotels.
The number of participants is limited.
