Delta#Iota#Wins#First;Ever#Court#of#Honor#
This#past#winter#at#the#Western#Pacific#Division#Conference,#Delta#Iota#received#
its#first;ever#Court#of#Honor#award#for#excellence.##With#more#than#150#brothers#
in#attendance#from#across#Western#Pacific#Division,#the#weekend#in#Las#Vegas#
gave#UCLA#Delts#an#opportunity#to#learn#new#recruitment#strategies,#improve#
our#standing#on#campus,#and#socialize#with#other#brothers.#Breakout#sessions#
with#headquarter#staff#and#advisors#gave#brothers#insight#for#tackling#
recruitment,#improving#pledge#education,#and#pushing#our#brothers#from#men#
to#excellent#men.#In#addition#to#the#Court#of#Honor,#Delta#Iota#was#recognized#
for#outstanding#recruitment.##
Delta#Iota#Sweeps#Intramural#Soccer#Championship#
During#the#fraternity;wide#intramural#soccer#championship#held#at#the#end#of#
winter#quarter,#UCLA#Delts#bested#Sigma#Chi#in#the#final#round#to#secure#the#
intramural#championship.##After#a#quarter;long#season#of#grueling#weekly#play,#
the#Delt#team#inched#out#a#2;1#victory#during#the#30;minute#game.##Despite#
sustaining#injury,#our#team#scored#the#game#point#to#the#cheers#of#fellow#
brothers,#who#came#to#support#the#season’s#success.#

Delta#Iota#wins#Alpha#Delta#Pi#Lion’s#Cup#
This#year,#Delts#took#home#Alpha#Delta#Pi’s#Lion#Cup,#an#annual#philanthropy#
that#involved#four#tiers#of#inter;fraternal#competition.##Taking#place#over#the#
course#of#a#week,#Lion’s#Cup#consists#of#four#different#competitions—first,#a#
talent#show;#second,#a#FIFA#video#game#tournament;#third,#a#recycling#drive;#
fourth,#a#soccer#tournament.##The#winner#is#the#fraternity#that#rallies#the#most#
points#based#on#a#composite#score#between#these#four#tiers.##Delta#Iota’s#
domination#with#recycling,#skill#at#soccer#(both#on#and#off#the#field),#and#talent#
gave#the#highest#composite#score#among#the#competing#fraternities.###
Alpha#Delta#Pi#contestant#wins#annual#Delta#Queen##
This#year’s#winner#of#the#annual#Delta#Queen#Pageant,#Alpha#Delta#Pi’s#Cassi#
McDiarmid,#bested#her#competition#from#Delta#Delta#Delta,#Phi#Sigma#Rho,#and#
Kappa#Delta#in#a#four;part#competition#testing#talent,#support,#beauty,#and#
passion.##The#four;part#pageant#consisted#of#a#talent#show,#a#cheer#competition,#
a#Q&A#session,#and#a#formal#wear#show.##On#top#of#these#four#live#parts,#
contestants#were#given#points#based#on#how#much#money#they#raised#for#
charity.##Playing#violin#in#a#stunning#red#dress,#McDiarmid#outdid#her#
competition#to#secure#the#title#of#Delta#Queen#and#retaining#the#title#within#
Alpha#Delta#Pi#for#another#year.##This#year’s#beneficiary#was#the#UCLA#Jonsson#
Cancer#Research#Center.#

Graduating#in#the#class#of#2012,#Max#Rozentsveyg#is#now#a#Delt#and#
UCLA#alumni,#who#works#full#time#as#a#software#engineer#for#Microsoft.#
For#Delta#Iota,#he#served#as#House#Manager,#Webmaster,#and#Sergeant#at#
Arms,#in#addition#to#being#on#ritual#team,#performing#the#flag#ceremony,#
and#mentoring#5#little#brothers.#He#was#also#heavily#involved#in#UCLA's#
competitive#ultimate#frisbee#team#and#was#an#officer#in#UCLA's#electrical#
&#computer#engineering#honor#society#(HKN).#"Joining#a#fraternity#was#
one#of#the#best#decisions#I've#made,"#says#Brother#Rozentsveyg.#"By#
joining#a#small#organization,#and#contributing#your#own#skills#and#talents#
to#it,#one#grows#as#a#person#and#gets#noticed#for#their#achievements.#I#

Meet#a#New#Brother:#Michael#Wu#
Freshmen#Michael#Wu#recently#initiated#at#the#top#of#his#Alpha#Zeta#
pledge#class#in#Winter#2013.#Studying#mechanical#engineering,#Wu#is#
also#a#member#of#Engineers#Without#Borders#and#Baja#Society#of#
Automotive#Engineers.##As#a#new#member,#Wu#said#that#he#“really#
learned#to#be#close#with#all#his#pledge#brothers”#and#that#he#really#
embodied#the#lessons#of#the#rituals#of#Delta#Tau#Delta#Fraternity.#His#
hope#is#to#graduate#with#Latin#honors,#participate#in#research#and#attend#
graduate#research#with#the#help#of#our#fraternity.##
