Okotoks Western Wheel • Wednesday June 10, 2015 • 43 Please recycle this newspaper Singers, from page 41 One of the most memorable productions for Downey was a spring concert featuring a Vegas theme where the group went through the years and included songs by Elvis Presley and Tom Jones. “It was a pretty big production,” she said. “All the work that goes on in those types of shows and all the volunteer hours is really impressive.” Outside of their weekly rehearsals and performances, the group is planning a trip to Europe with performances in Vienna and Salzburg during the Advent Festivals this fall. Members have been raising money for three years for the trip and will spend their free time enjoying a Mozart concert and touring the cities. Although the season has now ended, the group is recruiting new members for the start of its next season in September.
