Lakeside Joondalup Expansion; a great result!
Albert Jacob has been instrumental in securing Myer’s
presence at Lakeside Shopping centre and assisting Lakeside
to become W A’s largest shopping centre.
Albert has been involved with the Lakeside shopping centre from
his time with the City of Joondalup Council through lobbying the
Local and State Governments to ensure that the City of Joondalup
was granted tourism precinct status.
In June 2009, Albert’s efforts came to fruition when Premier Colin
Barnett announced that the City of Joondalup would be declared
as a tourism precinct status.
There have been many tangible benefits of this new zoning for the
Joondalup CBD, the most recent benefit being the $320million
expansion of Lakeside Shopping Centre which now includes the
first new Myer Store for the last 20 years.
Albert’s work over many years has contributed to Lakeside
attracting many visitors, providing a unique retail experience and
creating greater economic advantages for the local community.
Best wishes for a
Merry Christmas and a
Happy New Year!
