tree decoration-donation
campaign.
The
campaign,
dubbed as “Tree of
Hope” is now on its second year. World Vision
Philippines partners with
Holiday Inn Clark to put
sparkling silver and purplish pink balls on the
Christmas tree located at
the lobby of the said hotel.
Guests and employees who wish to donate
may choose from colorful balls and decorations.
The ornaments have a
peso equivalent. All proceeds will go to World Vision’s projects and programs in the country.

Mayor Annette Flores-Balgan on Monday urged the
police to continue their relentless drive against illegal drugs following the recent arrest of this town’s top
5 alleged most wanted drug
pusher.
Balgan said the police led

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED), in partnership with Angeles University Foundation (AUF) recently
conducted two simultaneous
events on intellectual property (IP) support in higher education research namely: IP Forum for HEI Top Management
and IP Foundation Course for
HEI Researchers held at the
AUF Sports and Cultural Center in Angeles City.
Participants consisting of
key officials and faculty researchers from various colleges and universities in the
country participated in the said
events led by Dr. Caridad O.
Abuan, CHED Region III Director and Dr. Joseph Emmanuel Y. Angeles, AUF President.

According to the AUF Center for Research and Development Executive Director and
CHED Higher Education Regional Research Committee
(HERRC) Director Dr. Roberto C. Pagulayan, the events
aimed at bridging the IP knowledge gap in HEIs; addressing
the need to institutionalize IP
structure and policy in HEIs,
and to incorporate the teaching of research designs that
considers possible patentable/copyrightable output. He
also added that since knowledge power is fast becoming
a basic capital in a competitive
knowledge economy, a strong
IP system must be established
to strengthen the research capability and develop a mature

first open movement of such
magnitude ever launched in
the province denouncing the
drug menace.
Two big groups coming
from two directions merged at
the town plaza after separately
making the rounds of majority
of the 14 barangays of the agricultural town.

Macalinao headed the group
coming from Barangay Lalawigan.
Participants came from all
sectors, most of whom were
elementary pupils and high
school students. Many children carried placards denouncing illegal drugs.
“We decided to invite more
of the youth because they
are more vulnerable to illegal
drugs and they are the life of
our town. I am ready to give
you all-out support and love,”
the mayor told the children.
“Ang droga ay sumisira ultimo sa bata, sinisira hindi lang
isipan, pagkatao kundi buong
pamilya ng maraming angkan,” she added.
CRUSADA stands for Crusade of Responsive and United Samalenos Against Drug
Abuse.
The mayor, however, reminded everybody that the
crusade will not be only for
one day. “Gagawin natin ito
araw-araw sa tulong ng lahat
ng relihiyon, ng mga simbahan upang ipakita na ang drug
pushers ay walang lugal sa
Samal,” dela Fuente said.
She said that every day
at 3 p.m. from November 15
– 20, church bells were rung
and a one-minute ecumenical
prayer made.

CSF holds tax symposium
The City Government of San Fernando reminded businessmen to renew early their permits and file income tax payments
avoid the long queue next year.
Mayor Edwin D. Santiago urged commercial establishments and traders to reapply their mayor’s permit and licenses during recent taxpayer’s symposium held at the Heroes
Hall.
“We are holding the taxpayers’ symposium every year to
inform our constituents about tax deadlines” said Mayor Santiago.
City Treasurer Mary Ann Bautista said that the symposium
was convened to give stakeholders updates including the
amendments on schedules of collection of fees.
“We invited representatives of local business establishments who are scheduled to renew their business permits
early next year” said Bautista.
In his message, Mayor Santiago noted that “taxes are the
life-blood of the government” adding that the city revenue
translates into basic services and projects for Fernandinos.
Also present during the symposium were City Councilors
Noel Tulabut, Harvey Quiwa and representatives from frontline service providers such as the Bureau of Fire Prevention
(BFP), City Legal Office (CLO), City Economic Enterprise Division (CEED and City Environment and Natural Resources
Office (CENRO).
Fernandino taxpayers may start processing their business
permits at the City Hall on the first week of December. Deadline of quarterly business tax payments is on January 20,

The local government, in cooperation and
partnership with local barangay officials and civic
organizations, held a simultaneous lighting of
christmas lights on the
different parks of the city,
especially those which
are along the old PNR
rail tracks. barangay officials of Agapito del Rosario, CM. Recto, Lourdes
Sur, Lourdes Sur East,
Pungbulu, Malabanias
and Tabun led the lighting ceremony in their respective areas, together
with their constituents.

According to Pamintuan, this simultaneous lightning activity
is one way to uplift the
spirit of our people and
make them feel the spirit of Christmas. “When
they are tired from their
work and their daily
chores, they can go to
our parks to relax, enjoy
the scenery, be relaxed
and spend quality time
with their friends and
family- this is our early Christmas gift to our
people.”
Other places in the
city, like Northville Cutud,
Plaza Angel in the heritage district, all the bridges and main thoroughfares are also bedecked
with Christmas lights and
decors.
Meanwhile,
Cauguiran announced that
the Estacion de Angeles People’s’ Park will
once again host a series
of Christmas concerts to
be presented by various
schools in the city, including the City College
of Angeles. Performances will be held on November 27, December
11 and 23 at the PNR
and December 18 at Plaza Angel, Heritage District.

ANGELES CITY - In a bid to
partner with schools to promote arts and culture, the local
government here, through the
Angeles City Tourism Office
held Terakan keng Piindakan,
Inter-school Modern/Hiphop
Dance Contest.
According to Dr. Richard
Daenos, City Tourism Officer,
the competition aims to instill
an appreciation of dance as an
art form and encourage students to recognize and appreciate originality, creativity, and
variety of movement associated with dance.
The elimination took place
on November 14 at Robinsons
Place Balibago, while the final
showdown was held November 21 at the Estacion De Angeles People’s Park.
The contest was participated in by 9 schools, namely Angeles City National Trade
School (ACNTS), Angeles
University Foundation Integrated School (AUF-IS), Claro M. Recto Information and
Communication Technology
High School (CMRICTHS),
Chevalier School, Francisco G. Nepomuceno Memorial
High School (FGNMHS), J.F.
Kuzma Incorporated, Malabanias Integrated School, Republic Central Colleges and
Systems Plus College Foundation (SPCF).
The five schools who made
it to the finals during the elimination were: ACNTS, AUF-IS,
Chevalier School, FGNMHS
and JF Kuzma Inc.
During the finals, Chevalier School bested the rest
with their awe-inspiring performance and emerged as
the grand winners, followed
by AUF-IS and J.F. Kuzma Inc
in second and third place respectively. The grand winners
received a cash prize worth
P30,000, second placers took
home P20,000 and the third
got P10,000.
This is the second year
that the local government held
the Terakan keng Piindakan,
which was then an inter-barangay competition. The activity was actively supported and

Telecommunications, Fontana Hot Spring Leisure Parks, shortly known as Fontana, successfully hosted the Fontana Clark Auto-Motorama 2015
(FCAMR2015) at Fontana Convention Center from
November 13 to 15.
The said biggest auto show with a theme “Drive
More To Reach More” featured super cars, family cars, hot rods, super bikes, military jeeps, vans,
trucks, and ATV. It also displayed the MAZDA RX7
replica which was used in the Fast and Furious film
as well as the Kawasaki which is declared as the
fastest motorbike in the world.
The said auto show also includes a Golf Tournament, Car and Truck of the Year Philippines Awards
2015, Black and white Pool Party, the Fontana JSK
Car Convoy, and the grand finals of Fontana Dance
Showdown.
RACING TO A HOT START
On the first day of the event, the car and bike distributors and manufacturers, VIP guests, and some
members of the press played the Golf Tournament at
Fontana Apollon Korea and Country Club (FAKCC).
In the afternoon, a press conference was held
at the new lobby of the convention. It was chaired
by Mabalacat Mayor Marino “Boking” Morales, Atty.
Arthur Tugade, CDC President and Chief Executive
Officer (CEO), Mr. Roberto Huang, President of San
Miguel Brewery Inc., Mr. Luigi Lopa, Vice President
of PLDT Smart Telecommunications, Mr. Manuel Sequeira, CEO of Fontana, and Mr. Robert Consunji,
President of Car Awards Group Inc.(CAGI).
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by Dr. Lam
Ying Lok, Chairman of Jimei Group.
On display were the car models of GTO Pontiac, Mercury Cougar, Chevy Camaro, Mini Cooper S,
Lotus, Maseratti, Ferrari, Shelby GT 500 (Eleanor),
Mustang, Jaguar, Alfa Romeo, Mazda, Hot Rod,
BMW, Subaru, Hyundai, Mazda, Kia, Ford, Mitsibishi,
Ford, Lancer, Military Jeeps, Haima, Suzuki among
others.
While the motorbikes displayed were the Victory,
Indian, Polaris, Kawasaki, Ducati, BMW, and Suzuki.
Simultaneously, the FCAMR2015 Golf Tournament Awarding and Car and Truck of the Year Philippines 2015 Awards Night by CAGI, the country’s
premier automotive award-giving body, were held at
Fontana Golden Pavilion in the first night.
After months of preparation and testing 78 vehicles from the 2015 model year, which involved roughly 1,500 test drives for four days, CAGI, has named
the Mazda 2 as the 2015 Car of the Year-Philippines
and the Nissan Navara as the Truck of the Year-Philippines.
Furthermore, CAGI awarded 25 minor titles to car
and truck model finalists. Winners were Ford Everest and Ford Everest Titanium, Suzuki Celerio, Kia
Forte, Honda, Mazda, Lexus, Jaguar, Volvo, Volkswagen, Subaru, Mazda, Volkswagen, Nissan, Rolls
Royce among others.
SO MUCH MORE ON THE SECOND DAY
The Fontana JSK Car Convoy served as the highlight of the second day. At 8:30AM, the cars were led
by Sequeira in Trinoma Quezon City all driving to
cross the way to North Luzon Expressway (NLEx).
Before noon, the convoy with a total of 1,059 cars
converged at Fontana.
The black and white-themed Pool Party happened in Fontana’s Olympic-sized Pool wherein DJ
Ken Tanabe, DJ Joker and DJ Chris, and DJ Janice
of DMC Philippines led the party with music entertainment. There were laser dancers and models who
were from Brazil, Columbia, Russel, Ukraine, All the
car and motor distributors and manufacturers, VIP
guests, national and local media attended the nightlong party.
THE HYPER THIRD DAY
On the third day of the show, the most-awaited
grand finals of dance competition called the Fontana
Dance Showdown started in the afternoon. Since
April of the year, the production team begun roaming around the country to select the best 10 dance
group finalists. On the grand finals proper, the declared group champion was the Names Going Wild
which received 25,000PHP. The 1st Runner Up was
the J Crisis who received 15,000PHP while the declared 2nd Runner Up was the FMD Kids who received 10,000PHP.
Apart from the prizes given by DZME1530, Sequeira rewarded each group winner an additional
10,000PHP. Nonetheless, the non-winning dance
groups received prizes.
Sexbomb Aira Bermudez was one of the judges of
the said dance competition.
Furthermore, Names Going Wild will be performing in Fontana’s New Year’s Eve Countdown Party as
stated by Sequeira.
As promised, part of the proceeds of the event will
go to the late Paul Walker’s foundation, the Reach
Out Worldwide Foundation, an organization dedicated to relief efforts for victims of natural disasters
around the world.
FCAMR2015 was co-organized with with San
Miguel Brewery, San Miguel Purefoods, Reach Out
Worldwide Foundation, Ginebra San Miguel, Petron,
Clark International Speedway, Car Awards Group Incorporated, JSK Custom Paint and Auto Works, and
Department of Tourism Region 3.

for many years to come.

INDEED, THE the Ampatuan Massacre may well
be the symbol of Noynoy Aquino’s term, a rutted,
crooked path strewn with broken promises and a
trail of blood.
Not because of what he has done but, even
worse, because he has done nothing for the simple
reason that he simply does not care.
How else explain the fact that when, on the
first visit here of US President Barack Obama in
April last year, asked what he was doing about
the continued media killings under his watch -- 26
at that time -- he prefaced his reply by referring
to the massacre but then could not even get the
numbers right on one of the most heinous crimes
in the country’s history, one which he had promised
justice for.
And then he follows this up by insulting all
our other murdered colleagues by the blanket
accusation that they “were killed not because of
professional activities, but, shall we say, other
issues.”
It was a canard he would make again just
months later, in September, when called out on his
administration’s human rights record in Belgium,
he brushed off the criticism as “blanket statements”
and said: “For instance, in the media killings, some
who used to work in media died. Did they die
because they were investigative journalists? Were
they exercising their profession in a responsible
manner, living up to journalistic ethics? Or did they
perish because of other reasons?”
And we have lost count of the times he has blamed
media for everything wrong with his administration,
a tiresome and infantile exercise that has, however,
further emboldened those who would seek to silence
critical journalists. So far, under his watch, 30 more
journalists have perished. All in all, 170 have died
since 1986, making us the 4th most dangerous
country in the world for journalists according to the
New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists’
(CPJ) Global Impunity Index. November 23 is also
among the basis of the International Federation of
Journalists’ global 2015 campaign, of which the
NUJP is an affiliate, to #endimpunity on crimes
against journalists.
Six years after Ampatuan, six years of continued
impunity, six years of unfulfilled promises and
broken dreams. We would say good riddance BS
Aquino III but no, you cannot and should not be able
to wash off the blood on your hands, for which we
promise to hound you and hold you accountable.

SIX YEARS after, the pain persists, the weeping wears on.
November 23, 2015. We solemnly, sorrowfully, observe the sixth anniversary of
Philippine media’s own day that will live in infamy.
Nowhere in the world, not at any time in
history had there been 32 media workers killed
in one place, in a single day. Not to mention
the 26 other civilians who perished along with
them.
November 23, 2009. The evil of that day
impacted in our minds, the tragedy befallen
our colleagues inscribed in our hearts, the
heinousness of it all troubling our very souls.
Six years have passed. Well beyond the
one-year period of mourning Filipino tradition
exacts on the bereaved. Of them to have moved
on in the business of living.
But not to us.
Six years have passed. With the pain, the
grief over our loss only increasing by the day.
The nation embittered by the slowness of the
justice system.
Six years have passed. And he, who
promised at the start of his term to see justice
be done to the Ampatuan Massacre victims, is
but seven months shy of exiting, ingloriously.
His own watch seeing the killing of 30 more
journalists, setting a record as “…a trail of
blood redder, thicker, and worse compared to
the number of work-related media murders per
year under four other presidents before him,
including his late mother Corazon ‘Cory’ C.
Aquino and his immediate predecessor Gloria
Macapagal-Arroyo.”
Leading the National Union of Journalists
of the Philippines to declare: “Under this
administration, a large part of the blame should
fall on Aquino, who has displayed a penchant
for blaming practically everything wrong
with his governance, or lack thereof, on the
media, which can only embolden those who
would impose the ultimate censorship – death
– coupled with an utterly uncaring attitude
towards the murders of journalists and human
rights violations in general.”
Six years have passed. And still counting.
But there shall be no forgetting.
The mourning continues.
The struggle for justice remains unceasing.
The fight to end the culture of impunity that
caused and effected the massacre unwavering.
Intensifying.
Heed us then the call to arms: “Do not go
quietly into that good night…Rage, rage against
the dying of the light.”
To us the living is reposited that sacred
duty until justice is done and the victims of the
Ampatuan Massacre, as well as all the martyrs
in the cause of press freedom shall truly rest in
peace.

The 195-kilometer long railway
line from Manila to Dagupan
in Pangasinan is inaugurated
On November 24, 1892,
the means of travel and communications in Luzon was improved greatly with the inauguration of the 195-kilometer
long railway line from Manila
to Dagupan in Pangasinan.
This led to the efficient delivery and transport not only of
goods and people but also information to the north via reliable and fast (8 hours at that
time) mode of transportation
the Philippines enjoyed during
the last decade of the 19th
century.
The general plan for the establishment of the railroad line
was introduced as a means of
exploiting the untapped riches of the virgin islands of Luzon, which had been endowed
with nature’s blessings but
only slightly stirred by trade
and commercial activity, even
during the galleon trade.
Hence, on June 25, 1875,
a royal decree of King Alfonso XII of Spain required the Inspector of Public Works of the
Philippine Island to submit a
general plan for the establishment of a railroad line on the
island of Luzon.
On June 1, 1887, a concession for the construction
of a railway line from Manila
to Dagupan, Pangasinan was
awarded to Don Edmundo
Sykes of the Ferrocaril de Manila-Dagupan, the original corporate name of the Manila Railway Company Ltd. of London.
The cornerstone of the
project was laid on July 31,
1887 at the present site of the
Philippine National Railways’
main terminal building at Tutuban, Manila.
Since then, the construc-
tion of lines continued such
that by 1940, the railway had
been extended up to Legazpi, Albay in the South and to
San Fernando, La Union in
the north. Branch lines were
constructed from Paniqui,
Tarlac to San Quintin, Pangasinan; from Tarlac, Tarlac to
San Jose, Nueva Ecija; from

I write this piece as a private practicing lawyer in Pampanga for more than
15 years. Specifically, this is based on my professional experiences with the
Regional Trial Court Branch 41, City of San Fernando, presided by the Honorable
Executive Judge Divina Luz Simbulan.
Yes, she is the judge charged by the
detained real estate magnate Delfin Lee before
the Office of the Court Administrator with
usurpation of authority, abuse of power, and
corruption. The charges of Lee came after EJ
Simbulan requested Lee’s transfer from the
present Pampanga Provincial Jail to a district
jail in Telabastagan, of this city, accusing Lee of
special treatment in the provincial jail.
I am not writing this to dwell into the details of
the accusations and charges between Lee and
EJ Simbulan. It is up to the proper jurisdiction to
look and decide into those issues. I do not know
Lee, not having met him in my life. But I know
EJ Simbulan and her court, having attended
the hearings of some of my cases in her sala,
and of course, the accreditation of Punto! in
the Regional Trial Court. Beyond that, I do not
know her.
“NO FOLLOW UP”. This is the strict notice
that you can read when you approach the
entrance of Branch 41. And this is true. EJ
Simbulan has been more than very efficient in
disposing cases filed in her court. In Petition
for Issuance of Owner’s Duplicate of Lost
Titles, she releases the Decision after the first
hearing. What the other courts decide in 3
months to one year on petitions of this nature,
EJ Simbulan decides in a month from filing.
She also decides motions and cases, criminal
or civil, with dispatch and lawyers gave her a
monicker Speedy Judge on this aspect. Before
I even think about the status of my case or
the motion I filed, here come the resolutions
from the mail. I have two or three experiences
during the hearing of the motion that I filed.
After the lawyers manifested that there were no
other arguments on the motion/comment, EJ
Simbulan would not make an order submitting
the motion for resolution. She would resolve it
right then and there, asking the parties to wait
for the signed order. Is this not amazing. Well,
yes, specially to the winning lawyer.
She is also very much dedicated to her
advocacy for alternative dispute resolutions to
settle civil cases. Once the case undergoes
Judicial Dispute Resolution before her, rest
assured that she can convince conflicting and
warring parties to settle the case amicably.
using her own skills and art in mediation. She
is a regular speaker and resource person of
the Philippine Judicial Academy when it comes
to mediation and judicial dispute resolutions,
training judges, lawyers and mediators on
these effective tools of case settlement without
undergoing the rigors and expenses of a full
blown trial.
She hates lawyers and litigants who are late
in hearings. If your case is set at 8:30 in the
morning, you have to be there by that time. Or
else, you will suffer the consequences of your
tardiness. I myself love her for this policy as
I can attend to my other tasks on schedule.
Litigants also appreciate that they do not need
to wait at all for hearing to start.
Her staff are very efficient, from the Utility
Worker to the Acting Branch Clerk of Court.
They will inform you immediately if hearings
will be postponed and will ask about your next
available calendar and time. This would indeed
save so much time and money for lawyers
and litigants as we do not need to go to court
anymore. Orders and resolutions are released
and mailed to lawyers on time, too.
My balls are on my neck. This is what I
feel everytime I attend hearing in her sala. Of
course, every lawyer must be prepared, must
know the facts of his case, must be able to
answer her questions. Or else, you would suffer
in shame from EJ Simbulan, and yes, in open
court at that with your clients listening. But over
time, she has mellowed down. I do not know if
this was the result of her heart ailment (as I only
heard from the grapevine). She has become
very appreciative of lawyers but you can still
see the fire in her to perform justice in the most
speedy and judicious manner.
I saw the fire in her when she ordered the
investigation of Notaries Public under her
jurisdiction that resulted in the elimination of fake
notaries. She even visited personally identified
offices of fake or non-complying Notaries Public
and closed many of them. She spared no one
and gave those not complying sufficient time
to comply. Even the newspapers accredited
by the Court were not spared, that included
Punto! She asked her Sheriff to visit each and
every accredited newspaper which resulted in
the suspension, revocation and cancellation of
accreditation of the majority of the newspapers.
Even Punto! that was discovered to be publishing
also in Tarlac Province was not spared. I filed
two motions for reconsideration, but was
unsuccessful. Punto has to cease publishing in
Tarlac Province and wait for another year before
being accredited again.
On the issue of corruption and extortion,
EJ Simbulan is indeed divine. I have talked
with many lawyers in Pampanga and no one
insinuated even a hint about an issue on
corruption against her. In fact, all of us are one
in saying that we have not heard of that from
her nor have any experience about corruption
and extortion from her nor any emissary from
her. Her staff are so honest and even afraid
to receive any consideration for payment of
transcript of stenographic notes and sheriff fees
without proper official receipts issued by the
Office of the Clerk of Court. No lawyer would
attempt to corrupt her, unless you wanted to
be in big trouble. This is the reason why I and
all of the lawyers I talked with do not believe
Lee’s accusation of corruption. Reading from
the Complaint of Lee as published in Punto,
the alleged solicitation of the motor vehicle was
done through an emissary of EJ Simbulan’s
husband, who happens to be the Regional
State Prosecutor for Region III. It is best if
that emissary is identified to once and for all
complete the evidence on this issue. However,
the prosecutor husband is similarly respected,
with no single issue on corruption like EJ
Simbulan.
When I first read the Punto issue containing
Lee’s charges against EJ Simbulan, I felt so
sad and could imagine how would this issue
emotionally affect the judge, her husband and
her family. Yes, the publication can tarnish
the judge’s good reputation and exemplary
performance in the eyes of those who do not
know her. But from the eyes of the lawyers and
litigants who have professional dealings with
her, the charges would not matter at all. For
those who do not know her, let us not become
judgmental. These are mere charges and
have to be proven. Let the issues be resolved
in the proper venue where evidence shall be
presented and evaluated.
Justice is divine after all. The truth will be
the best defense. I pray that justice be served
to the person who dispenses it, and as swiftly
and speedily as she dispenses it.

“I asked him, Mr. Secretary are you planning
to develop Sangley Point
as an international airport or put up one in Bulacan or make an exten-
sion and widening of the
NAIA?”
But Roxas, according to Rodriguez, blurted
out, “that’s a stupid plan!”
He said “can you
imagine, Sangley point is
just a small area and you
will have to reclaim land
from the sea?”
Rodriguez said Roxas also said “another
stupid plan was the proposed airport in Bulacan because Clark is too
near.”
He said “why would
you develop and airport
in Bulacan and spend so
much when there is an
existing premier international airport in Clark?”
He said another stupid plan is the idea of extending and widening the
NAIA runway.
“Don’t they know that
the subdivisions surrounding NAIA are not
ordinary subdivisions?
Why spend trillions of
pesos for the right-ofway and assuming that
you can get them, you
should be ready for another 20 years before a
favorable decision from
the Supreme Court can
be handed down,” Rodriguez quoted Roxas as
saying.
“Because surely, the
residents in the area will
bring the issue to the Supreme Court,” Roxas reportedly told Rodriguez.
“Are those not stupid
plans?” Roxas asked.
Rodriguez said in another occasion he also
confronted DOTC Secretary Joseph Emilio Aba-
ya and asked him if he
plans to put up an airport
in Sangley.
But Rodriguez said
Abaya told him “No” and
that the Clark International Airport (CIA) is still
the “top priority.”
But much preparation
is still needed for its full
utilization, Abaya said.
“But I don’t know if he
(Abaya) is serious about
it,” the solon said.
Rodriguez said in the
event that the CIA will be
fully utilized, the City of
San Fernando could become a “gateway to the
north” and ultimately “a
global gateway.”
“But I don’t know what
is the real reason why
the CIA has not been utilized to the fullest,” he

“Naku, hindi na muna,” sabi ni Direk Cathy
Molina. “Sa lahat ng pelikulang ginawa ko,
pinakamahirap itong ‘Second Chance’. We
took our chance to tell you a story na different
doon sa una, which was made eight years ago,
at mahirap siyang buuin. Basta ibang-iba ito
sa una. The biggest challenge is ‘yung gap ng
eight years. We have to find muna kung ano ang
nagaganap ngayon sa characters nilang sina Popoy
and Basha.
Nasaktan nga ako while doing this movie kasi akala
ni Bea Alonzo, ilo-launch ko siya as a bold star.”
Why? Did Bea do some sexy scenes in the movie?
“Eh, siyempre, mag-asawa na rito sina Popoy at Basha

So what’s the difference between Bea and John Lloyd in
‘One More Chance’ and ‘Second Chance’? “Eight years ago,
ang tataba nila! Ha ha ha! But in terms of acting, they’re so
different now. Mas intense sila, nag-improve talaga. They take
on their roles more seriously para maisabuhay ng tama ang
characters nila. Now, ni hindi ko na sila mino-motivate and I
guess it comes with maturity and experience. They’ve also
become better persons.”
Does she really believe in giving second chances? “Yes,
kasi lahat naman, nagkakamali dahil mga tao lang tayo.
So when it comes to relationships, everyone deserves a
second chance, basta nandun pa rin ang pagmamahal
mo.”
“A Second Chance” opens in theatres this
Wednesday, November 25.
