The practice of Milcíades Rodríguez includes Tax Advisory, Administrative Appeals, Contentious-Tax Claims, Strategy
Design and Tax Planning, Corporate Reorganizations and Due Diligence procedures.
Experience
Mr. Rodríguez has acted as tax advisor to some of the major industries and international hotel chains, as well as to the
major infrastructure and development projects operating in the country. He consults mainly on corporate and international taxation, local taxation, and on contentious-tax proceedings. Mr. Rodriguez has advised family businesses and
individuals on strategy design and on tax planning.
He lectures about taxation matters in the most renowned universities and private institutions in the country, such as the
Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo, Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra, Universidad Nacional Pedro
Henríquez Ureña, Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo, Universidad Iberoamericana de Santo Domingo, BARNA
Business School, APEC Foundation and the National School of Finance and Audit. He also participates as a speaker in
courses, workshops, and seminars for the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of the Dominican Republic, for Chambers of Commerce accredited in the country, for business associations, and for prestigious international universities.
Education & Publications
Mr. Rodríguez is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) graduated from Universidad O&M, with a Postgraduate Degree in
Tax Accounting from Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo.
Furthermore, he has studied Trusts at the Latin American Banking Federation, as well as at BanColombia, at Instituto
Tecnológico de Monterrey in Santo Domingo, and at the Trust Alliance of Colombia. He has also studied Money Laundering Prevention in the prestigious INCAE Business School of Costa Rica.
Mr. Rodríguez is also a well-recognized columnist on tax issues and co-author of multiple executive summaries about the
various tax reforms occurred in our country. He is also co-author of all five editions of one of the most important books
published in the country about the matter: Noted Tax Code of the Dominican Republic and Complementary Legislation,
fifth edition sponsored by DR & R Abogados y Consultores Fiscales.
Affiliations & Credentials
Mr. Rodríguez is a current member of the Tax Affairs Committee at the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of the
Dominican Republic (ICPARD), where he has been a member for over a decade. Additionally, he is President of the
National Council of Tax Advisors (CONACI).
