During a tour of the factory, the sales partners had the opportunity to witness Putzmeister mortar machines in operation. Like last year, the tour included a visit to the high-bay warehouse, staff offices and the production hall with four production lines for pneumatic conveyors, piston pumps, worm pumps and mixer pumps. The machines on the testing and training ground were another point of interest. An EC 450 Estrich Boy with electric motor, the entire machine portfolio for self levelling floor screed applications as well as the P 715 piston pump and both FHS 200 and SP 11 BHF worm pumps were also on show. Various tests demonstrated the impressive strengths of the machines. Putzmeister Concrete Pumps also provided an interesting insight into the painting centre and Efficient mixing technology for almost every construction site: the compact CM 15 continuous mixer Telebelt 200 mobile belt conveyor. The After Sales & Parts Service presented their sales and support systems. A host of new products To commemorate the 45th birthday of the Estrich Boy, one of the leading models in Europe, Putzmeister has launched a limited edition as a thank you to its customers. Special features include an attractive painted finish, working lights for illuminating the construction site, a solid guard bracket that prevents damage to the machine, a robust rotary discharge stand and the patented Brinkmann automatic lid with automatic venting feature for efficient working progress. In addition to these highlights, Putzmeister presented a wide range of innovations on pneumatic conveyors from the Mixokret range. In the future, these will also be integrated in new products. The new SP 11 TMR plastering machine generates impressive power The new SP 11 TMR The new SP 11 TMR plastering machine with a powerful 4-cylinder engine is also impressive. Equipped with the largest hopper and mixer available on the market, it processes premixed dry mortar and site mixes. Continuous mixer CM 15 The compact CM 15 continuous mixer was also presented. It incorporates efficient mixing technology for almost any construction site. It homogeneously mixes ready-mix dry mortar such as internal and external plaster, cement and reinforcement mortar, finishing www.pmmortar.de www.estrichboy.de www.transmix.de plaster with a grain size of 4 mm. Extremely practical: the new detachable 230 volt connection. Sociable end The main focus of every Putzmeister Open House is the social event where Putzmeister staff have the opportunity of meeting both new and returning guests. The conclusion to an eventful day in a wine village atmosphere was extremely cosy. The visitors enjoyed new wine, onion tart and stimulating conversation with a backdrop of pleasant background music. Fine concrete pump P 715 TD stabilises slopes during the construction of a road in Oman The compact P 715 TD is currently demonstrating its outstanding versatility during the construction of a section of road between Bidbid and Sur. The piston pump is currently being used to pump shotcrete for stabilising the slopes on either side of a road that passes through the rough mountain landscape in the east of the Sultanate of Oman. The inland desert Dschiddat al-Harasis covers most of the central part of Oman. Towards the coast in the northeast, the desert is hemmed in by a barren mountain range with peaks reaching up to 3,000 m in height, which is exactly where the 35 km is being constructed. It forms part of the important road between the capital Maskat and the southeast section of the coast. Where economically feasible, tunnels will be constructed to overcome the mountain range. In other places, the slopes will be blasted away and then stabilised to prevent landslides. Following many positive experiences with the P 715 TD from Putzmeister, the company Özkar Construction L.L.C. decided to purchase another fine concrete pump of the same model to stabilise the slopes using shotcrete. Slopes as high as 20 m and a rugged landscape provide a stern challenge for the robust piston pump from Putzmeister. The combination of outdoor temperatures of approx. 40 °C and 90 m of hose between the pump and shotcrete nozzle are equally as demanding. The concrete consistency had to be adapted precisely to the pump and external conditions to ensure that the mater ial remains pumpable and does not harden. A Putzmeister engineer was present on site to provide support. He conducted a series of delivery tests with and without fibre admixtures under real conditions to determine the right concrete formulas and make sure the concrete could be pumped over the long distances involved. It was also possible to adapt sections of the hose based on the results of the tests. Reductions at the end of the line usually caused the most problems. The transition from an inner diameter 65 mm to 50 mm, for example, poses a risk of blockages. The Putzmeister specialist also gave exact instructions on how to start pumping again following an interruption in operation using cement sludge with a homogeneous, viscous consistence and a sponge ball. The P 715 TD trailer-mounted fine concrete pump is compact and lightweight, which makes it easy to transport and manoeuvre. The powerful 2-cylinder piston pump generates up to 68 bar pumping pressure and a maximum output of 17.4 m3/h. Versatility is the main strength of this pump. Not is it only ideal for shotcreting, but also for pumping anhydrite, cement and cementrite self levelling floor screed, fine grained concrete with a grain size of 16 mm and for grouting work. The Trans Mix in action during Denmark's most extensive hotel renovation The Hotel D'Angleterre in the centre of Copenhagen reopened its doors in the middle of 2013, after being closed for almost two years following a complete renovation. More than 90 rooms were refurbished to the highest quality standards. With planned rebuilding costs of more than € 150 million, the hotel restoration project is the most expensive in Denmark. The ambitious aim to complete the works within two years was also challenging for the tradesmen and planners involved. One of the most complex tasks was laying the new floor. The site management chose the company Lodbyg to do this. With its advantages suited to this particular construction site, Trans Mix technology was able to impress all decision-makers. The construction site was located in a compact area of the city, which meant there was little room to set up or manoeuvre the machines. In some cases, it was necessary to work from newly designed sites. Thanks to its small platform, the Trans Mix was the perfect choice. Torben Hansen, the driver of the tractor unit, even brought the required materials to the construction site in the Trans Mix – no additional delivery vehicles were required. And once the works were complete, the construction site was cleaned and tidied up. The Trans Mix was also responsible for the floor insulation and levelling with the RiBA Plan polystyrene system. 4,000 m2 of floor was refurbished. The Trans Mix is supplied with blowing-in equipment for polystyrene. It was reloaded at the construction site and it was possible to work almost continuously. It was as though the RiBa-plan material had been made specially for the Hotel D'Angle terre construction site. Good insulating and levelling properties, as well as quick processing, were important criteria. Owner Leif Hansen demonstrated that he has a good nose for buying when he chose the Trans Mix. This machine helped him in his task of renovating the Hotel D'Angleterre and made it possible to handle the con struction project quickly. www.pmmortar.de www.estrichboy.de www.transmix.de Large delivery ranges and quantities, small space requirements and a clean procedure clearly demonstrate the capabilities of the Trans Mix. Anniversary at Putzmeister: 45 years of Estrich Boy – The innovative classic! Putzmeister has reason to celebrate: the first Estrich Boy was launched onto the market in 1968 and exactly 45 years later, the success of the durable pneumatic conveyor has remained unbroken. Putzmeister has launched a limited edition Estrich Boy to mark this anniversary. tor y, Writing his future – e shaping th 1968 – a year representative of a series of renewal processes when the first marketready pneumatic conveyor for transporting and placing screed was launched - the Brinkmann Estrich Boy. Three years later in 1971, the range was extended to include an electric version 45 yeaorys! B h c i r t s E of that was quieter than the diesel engine model. In 1983, the first model with 4 cylinders became available on the market. In the years that followed, other innovations such as the Trans-Mix system, the first "screed factory on wheels", revolutionised the screed industry. For more than 45 years, Brinkmann, the company derived from Putzmeister, contin uously developed the Estrich Boy together with its customers . It is therefore no surprise that the Estrich Boy is one of the leading screed conveyors in Europe and is very popular in Russia and Turkey. The recipe for success is simple: "We listen to our customers", says Markus Frasch, Product Manager at Putzmeister Mörtelmaschinen. This goes a long way to explaining why the Estrich Boy continues to set the standards in terms of user friendliness and technical innovation. The company has always attached great import ance to providing a host of adaptation and configuration options to create the right solution for every construction site! It keeps on running: Putzmeister plastering machine from 1964 Business partners Frank Weerts and Reinhard Koch, a bricklayer and concrete worker, made a rare discovery in Ihausen (Westerstede) in northwest Lower Saxony: a legendary PKM built in 1964 – the oldest intact Putzmeister plastering machine in existence according to present knowledge! Since a major overhaul, the lucky finders have been using the machine for their daily work. 1964 – a historical year when Willi Brandt was elected as chairman of the SPD party and candidate for German Chancellor, and Cassius Clay aka Muhammad Ali contested the world heavyweight boxing title. It was also the manufacturing year of a machine that Putzmeister founder Karl Schlecht developed himself – a PKM piston mortar machine with diesel engine and integral trap mixer. The model preceded the equally successful P13 piston pump. Much later in 2011, Frank Weerts and Reinhard Koch stumbled across the vintage Putzmeister machine by chance in a shed in Westerstede. The two contractors, who have run their mason and concrete construction companies in close cooperation for 16 years, were lucky on two counts. Firstly, Reinhard Koch had previously already worked with the PKM and had secretly been in search of a similar machine ever since. Secondly, the probability of making such a find is extremely low because these rarities are usually discovered in Eastern Europe. Weerts and Koch purchased the machine from the owner on the spur of the moment and brought it to the nearest Putzmeister dealer and service partner Klarmann Bauund Landmaschinen GmbH for renovation. Even the most experienced mechanics had never seen such a rare machine, yet welcomed a change from the usual models. An independent brand and company in the Putzmeister Group since 2012 and in majority ownership since 2002, Brinkmann has launched a limited edition Estrich Boy in the anniversary year as a thank you to its customers. with the lebrations Bir thday ce ition Limited Ed Es trich Boy us s of continuo day. 45 year rth bi th 45 g in ating its ns, ou ts ta nd Boy is celebr ur ation optio Our Estrich alle d config riv t you clear un t, en br lo pm have ough furt he r de ve riendlines s -f er us um the le ading and m axim Boy one of perfor m ance e our Es trich ad m ve ition is our ha us e you y Limite d Ed bene fit s be ca e Es trich Bo Th . pe ro Eu eyor s in scre ed conv thank you: ng yi sa of w ay lly friendly, vironm enta unit or an en r so es pr m ic engine co ation ■■ Ec on om relia ble op er ing c motor for tri fe ctive cool ec el se su oi g en re s ef low -n t air op enin us ha ex d inta ke an l ■■ La rg e istant materia unit g, impact-res for the drive , hard-wearin ht ig we ht lig m hood made fro ■■ Plastic rate, b e l e We c u save tion yo di ed E imi t ish oy L B d fin lid h e t c i n r i t a c Es ia l p ma ti S p e c e d a u to h t s nt lig Pate ork ing bracket W d gua r s t a n d e l b a D ur c h a r g e Dis + + + ++ This special edition is a culmination of decades of experience from engin eers and knowledge of construction site requirements for screed layers. Special features include a 45th anniversary painted finish and an automatic lid developed and patented by Brinkmann, which starts and stops the conveying process without operator intervention and vents the mixing vessel automatically. The Estrich Boy is also equipped with a mobile working light, hard-wearing guard brackets and a durable discharge stand. www.pmmortar.de www.estrichboy.de www.transmix.de Since then, the PKM has been used every day and according to the owners and their employees, it runs like a "Swiss timepiece" and could continue to do so for another 50 years as a result of the careful mainten ance. The PKM mortar machine combines durability with simple technology from today's perspective in the usual Putzmeister quality. The diesel version of the machine is most practical in rural areas because it operates independently of a power supply. Extremely reliable, it is ideal for any kind of masonry or plastering work. Accessories for professionals: The discharge stand system for screed layers The adapter attached to the discharge stand can be replaced and is compatible with all hose couplings with a nominal diameter of 50, 65 or 89. This system allows you to connect the hose on your Estrich Boy or Mixokret screed conveyor to the placement site with just a few hand movements.
