Day 03
OCT 27 SUN
Amman/Petra, Jordan
Following breakfast we cross the Allenby Bridge into Israel. We drive to the ancient city of Petra, the “Red Rose
City”. We begin our visit with an unforgettable ride
through the Siq, the long narrow path to Petra, with 200300 foot walls of red Nubian sandstone. At the end of the
Siq, the beautiful treasury building bursts into view. For
500 years the Nabateans painstakingly carved their capital
from the living rock of the surrounding mountains. Their
most impressive endeavor was the Treasury. We will continue past the Roman theater and various tombs, then climb
to the Monastery of El-Deir (165 feet wide and 148 feet
high) carved into a cliff. These huge structures are a truly
amazing example of artistic and engineering skills. After
our visit of Petra, we return to Amman for dinner and overnight.
Day 04
OCT 28 MON
Allenby/Beth-Shan/Mt Tabor/Gideon’s Spring/Baptism
After breakfast we will proceed to the border and cross the
Allenby Bridge. Continue to the City of Beth-Shan mentioned in 1 Samuel 31:12 where King Saul’s body had
been hung on the wall. Then we will continue to the Jezreel Valley for our visit and prayer on Mount Tabor, the
traditional site of the Mount of Transfiguration. We will
visit Gideon’s Fountain as mentioned in Judges Chapter 8.
Our last stop today will be at the place of Baptism in the
River Jordan, where you will have the opportunity to be
baptized in the river. We end the day at our hotel in Tiberius for dinner and overnight.
Day 05
OCT 29 TUE
Sea of Galilee Area/Cana/Nazareth/Megiddo/Caesarea
This morning we will take a motor launch across the Lake
of Galilee from Tiberius to Capernaum, where Jesus recruited His first Disciples.
At Capernaum we will visit the synagogue noting several
important things that happened while Jesus was here. We
will continue to the Mount of Beatitudes, from which He
preached the Sermon on the Mount. We drive to Tabgha,
site of the miracle of Multiplication of the Loaves and
Fishes. Following lunch we will continue to Cana, where
Jesus performed his first miracle before continuing to visit
Nazareth Jesus' boyhood home and pray at Mary's well.
We continue to visit Megiddo the ancient city built atop a
tel or hill, pronounced har in Hebrew. Hence the name Har
Megiddo - Armageddon, where the Bible says the final
battle will be waged and Christ will return to smite his
enemies. Last stop will be Caesarea (where Paul was imprisoned for two years). We see the impressive Roman
Statues and the beautiful amphitheater. We return to our
hotel in Tiberius for dinner and overnight.
Day 06
OCT 30 WED
Jerusalem Baptist Church/Bethlehem
This morning we will drive to Jerusalem and begin our day
by attending the service at the Jerusalem Baptist Church
where one of our pastors will bring the morning message.
Following lunch, we will visit the room of the Last Supper
and the scene of Pentecost, then continue to Bethlehem.
We will go on to the Shepherd's Fields, which echoed the
song of peace to the world and men of good will. We return to Bethlehem to visit the Shepherd’s Fields where the
Angel Gabriel announced the birth of Jesus Christ. Then
continue to the Grotto of the Nativity, where a fourteen
point star set in the floor beneath the altar marks the site of
the Savior's birth. Over the Grotto of Jesus' birth stands the
Church of Nativity, this was originally built by the Emperor Constantine in the 4th century. We return to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight
Day 07
OCT 31 THU
Mt of Olives/Gethsemane/New City
This morning we drive to the Mount of Olives for a panoramic view of Jerusalem. We visit the Ascension Place and
the church of Pater Noster to view versions of the Lord's
Prayer in 35 languages. We will walk down the mount
stopping at the place where Jesus wept over Jerusalem. We
visit the Garden of Gethsemane, where we will see the
eight venerable olive trees which witnessed His solitary
vigil. We will then visit the Gehenna Valley and see the
traditional "Potter's Field" in Gallicantu where it is believed Jesus was held by the Jews. This afternoon we will
visit the Holocaust Museum, a replica of the city and the
Shrine of the Book where the Dead Sea Scrolls are on display. We will then return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 08
NOV 01 FRI
Old City of Jerusalem/Garden Tomb/Dead Sea
We will enjoy a tour to the Crusader Church of St. Anne and
the pool of Bethesda. Continue to the Temple area, sacred to
Christians, Jews and Moslems. We will walk along the Via
Dolorosa starting with the site of the Roman Praetoriam and
Pilate's Judgment Hall, where we will walk on the very stones
that Jesus walked on. We will walk past the Chapel of Flagellation and Ecce Homo Arch to end the walk at the church of the
Holy Sepulcher. We will conclude our visit at a pivotal point in
history where Jesus arose from the grave at the garden tomb.
This peaceful garden outside the gates of Jerusalem is where it
is believed Jesus was buried and rose from the dead. “At the
place where Jesus was crucified there was a garden, and in the
garden a new tomb, in which no-one had ever been laid” (John
19:41). We will proceed to the Dead Sea, 1288 feet below sea
