We begin our visit with an unforgettable ride through the Siq, the long narrow path to Petra, with 200300 foot walls of red Nubian sandstone. At the end of the Siq, the beautiful treasury building bursts into view. For 500 years the Nabateans painstakingly carved their capital from the living rock of the surrounding mountains. Their most impressive endeavor was the Treasury. We will continue past the Roman theater and various tombs, then climb to the Monastery of El-Deir (165 feet wide and 148 feet high) carved into a cliff. These huge structures are a truly amazing example of artistic and engineering skills. After our visit of Petra, we return to Amman for dinner and overnight. Day 04 OCT 28 MON Allenby/Beth-Shan/Mt Tabor/Gideon’s Spring/Baptism After breakfast we will proceed to the border and cross the Allenby Bridge. Continue to the City of Beth-Shan mentioned in 1 Samuel 31:12 where King Saul’s body had been hung on the wall. Then we will continue to the Jezreel Valley for our visit and prayer on Mount Tabor, the traditional site of the Mount of Transfiguration. We will visit Gideon’s Fountain as mentioned in Judges Chapter 8. Following lunch we will continue to Cana, where Jesus performed his first miracle before continuing to visit Nazareth Jesus' boyhood home and pray at Mary's well. We continue to visit Megiddo the ancient city built atop a tel or hill, pronounced har in Hebrew. Hence the name Har Megiddo - Armageddon, where the Bible says the final battle will be waged and Christ will return to smite his enemies. Has been defined as praying on site with insight. Is praying on site for Israel's salvation. Gives insight from what is seen and from what is learned from God’s Word. Is coming alongside His laborers to encourage and intercede for them. Is growing spiritually while walking with Him and experiencing His love and concerns in the land of Israel. What makes Israel a unique people? The LORD said that if Israel obeyed His voice and kept His covenant, "then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation." Exodus 19:5-6 Dr. Tom and Kay Cox have led hundreds of miss i on teams throughout the world; and maintain a strategic relationship with the Southern Baptist International Mission Board. This is their 36th trip to Israel. They never tire of praying for other people groups and seeing the sights of Israel. Eric and Gaye Ramsey have served with TCWM since 2007. Eric is an international evangelist, author and crosscultural communication and mission strategist; and serves as TCWM president. Gaye is a singer/recording artist, and conference speaker.
