Statesboro Vidalia Savannah McRae Albany Tifton Blakely Douglas Brunswick Thomasville Valdosta HISTORY In 1994, Gwinnett County was the largest county east of the Mississippi without a four-year college. So Gwinnett County leaders purchased 160 acres of land and designated it specifically for the development of a college campus. GGC opened its doors in 2006 as the first four-year college founded in Georgia in more than 100 years, and the nation’s first four-year, public college of the 21st century. STUDENTS Already, about 11,000 students representing a diverse array of cultures and countries call themselves Grizzlies. The student body is almost perfectly balanced: 55 percent female and 45 percent male. Many students work part- or even full-time, thanks to our flexible schedule. GGC is a four-year degree-granting unit of the University System of Georgia. ACADEMICS Choose among 42 concentrations across 15 degree programs: BiologyHistory Business Administration Information Technology ChemistryMathematics Criminal Justice/Criminology Nursing Early Childhood Education Political Science EnglishPsychology Environmental Science Special Education Exercise Science THIS IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL COLLEGE STUDENT LIFE There are more than 100 clubs and organizations and eight intramural programs to choose from – indoor flag football, dodgeball, sand volleyball, racquetball, tennis, basketball, indoor soccer, golf and tennis. The best part is this – if you don’t see one you like, you can create your own. We’re also excited about our intercollegiate athletics program, which has already won regional and national championships. Go Grizzlies! AFFORDABILITY In-state tuition is currently about $128 per credit, and full in-state tuition is capped at less than $1,922 per semester. In addition to the HOPE Scholarship, students can qualify for federal financial aid, including the Pell Grant and the Stafford Loan, among others. GGC’s Office of Financial Aid will be glad to help you find funding. The way we see it, cost should never be a factor in getting a great education. www.ggc.edu Georgia Gwinnett College was designed and built around YOU, the student. Small class sizes and engaged professors provide a private college experience at a public college price. Cutting-edge facilities, engaging student programs and a global curriculum were made all for you. That’s our average class size. You, plus 22 other students working and learning together. You won’t find huge lecture halls on campus, and professors (who also act as mentors) will know you by name. Have a question out of class? Need one-on-one help? Just TEXT your professor, who will text you back. Simple. Innovative. Different. How many other colleges promise that? SAY HELLO TO THE SUITE LIFE STUDENT SUCCESS LIVES HERE We love it when students succeed. So much so, that we’ve established our own, unique dedication to providing you help whenever you need it. Free tutoring, mentors, honors programs and a residential learning experience are just a sample of what we have to offer. SIMPLY A BETTER VALUE High tuition and the prospect of outrageous student loan debt shouldn’t stand in your way of getting a college degree. That’s why we keep costs down and standards high. You simply can’t beat GGC’s price tag. Find out how affordable college can be at www.ggc.edu/tuition. GGC’s suite-style living offers chic, apartment-like housing in on-campus residence halls. • Private bedrooms and vanities • One full bathroom for every two students • Fully equipped kitchenettes, furnished living rooms with flat-screen TVs • On-site laundry … with equipment that will text you when your clothes are done • Walk to class • On-site, 24-hour security and housing management I’m inspired!
