February 2 Michelangelo We will discuss the artist that lived over 500 years ago and create a Masterpiece of our own. February 16 Marc Chagall Find out how this boy from Russia became a great multi-media artist. We will create TWO “stained glass” creations. (P.S. Marc’s work is right here at West Point) February 23 Charles Schulz Learn about the artist that created the Peanuts Gang. You will create a comic strip character based on yourself or a pet. March 1 Claude Monet The celebrated artist went from caricaturist to impressionist. We will recreate his beautiful “Water Lillies” March 8 Grandma Moses “You’re never too old to start” was Grandma’s motto when she began her painting career at the age of 76. She mostly painted on cardboard. What can we find to paint on?? March 22 Norman Rockwell One of the most published artists of all time. His triple self- portrait will inspire your own self portrait. April 4 Jackson Pollock Called the most influential American Artist of the 20th century. Known as “Jack the Dripper”. We will see what we can do with dripping paint. April 12 Pablo Picasso This famous artist began his art instruction at the age of 7. You will create an installation to rival any of Picasso’s work April 19 Auguste Rodin Study all of the beautiful work of this French sculpture artist. It will make you “think” April 26 Pierre-Auguste Renoir Ground breaking French impressionist. He was the first to introduce landscapes in the impressionist style. Your landscape will be ground breaking as well. May 3 Hieronymus Bosch 15th century Dutch Renaissance Artist who lived over 555 years ago brought into the 21st century Class Times: 10:30-11:30am or 3:30-4:30pm $15 per session or $50 for 4 sessions – grades K-8 Registration and prepayment required, space is limited.
