Arts for All Program Greater Forest Lawn Artist Award Guidelines
Arts for All Program Greater Forest Lawn Artist Award Guidelines Application Deadline: May 30, 2014 at 4:30pm Program Information The Arts for All Program supports the arts outside of Calgary’s downtown core, with a focus on neighbourhoods in East Calgary. Are you an artist: • Working in visual art, music, dance, theatre, film, video or another art form? • With special training and skill in your art form? • Who would be interested in focusing on your art professionally, if you could afford to do so? The Greater Forest Lawn Artist Award gives $5,000 to one artist living and working in one or more of these Greater Forest Lawn neighbourhoods: • Albert Park/Radisson Heights • Dover • Erin Woods • Forest Heights • Forest Lawn • Penbrook Meadows • Southview The award is intended to allow you to focus on being an artist. You can use the funds to support almost any part of your art form, including: • Learning new techniques or skills from a mentor or master; • Creating new work; or • Researching and exploring new directions in your art form. The funds cannot be used for: • Academic study that leads to diplomas, degrees or certificates; • Finished work that has already been presented or commissioned (i.e. paid for); or • Purchasing items like computers, tools, equipment, instruments, etc. The award will go to one artist who can show that: 1.
