By the year 2020 it will be 1 over 3 if no action is taken. This means every family will have at least one member suffering from cancer - be it your parent, spouse, sibling or child. MAKNA (Majlis Kanser Nasional or the National Cancer Council) is a not-for-profit social enterprise mainly tasked to pool and utilise every effort, expertise and financial aid from every faction of society, and to fight cancer and reduce the related pain, suffering and morbidity that cancer patients and their families often experience. As an effort to support MAKNA, we are organising The Tea Party. Participants will have the opportunity to socialise with each other while relaxing and drinking tea, gain awareness on cancer, donate and bringing back merchandises from MAKNA. Donation box will be provided during the event. We are hoping that this event would be fulfilling and participants would gain much information about cancer detection and prevention and can spread the words to others as well as raising much needed funds for MAKNA. ~ BIODATA OF SPEAKERS ~ Speaker Biodata: Dr. Saunthari Somasundaram, President/Medical Director, National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM) The Medical Director oversees the direction of the operations of the National Cancer Society Malaysia in both the clinical and educational services.
