We will discuss the broader role of study of humanities in the practice of medicine. It is intended for any physician interested in a historical perspective that will help us to better understand the present, especially in the complex socio-economic environment in which we currently practice medicine. At the conclusion of this course, the participant will be able to: 1. Identify the methods of a great teacher. 2. Identify lessons from the past and present that can inform future involvement by physicians to reduce tobacco use and promotion. 3. Explain the history of sexually transmitted infectious diseases and the evolution of their agents, e.g. antibiotic resistance, so as to be relevant to today’s care of patients. TUITION Tuition is complimentary, but PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. To obtain CME credit for attendance, a $25 charge will be assessed.
