Our daughter Candace is continuing to connect our contacts within the Helsinki region. Her 2016 calendar is in place, and we’re excited about her vision for the year! Group meetings, fellowship opportunities, prayer meetings and more are planned. She also continues to host the online Bible study that we do with three of our Finnish friends whenever our schedules permit. In Loimaa and the surrounding area, Jun and Joyce Ventura are working on making contacts, have plans to start new Bible studies, and are holding services whenever their schedules permit. We are thrilled about the team that God is building, and we look forward to what He will do through all of us!—Mark and Glenda Alphin GREENLAND: Regional Director Michael Tuttle and Area Coordinator Robert Kelley, were privileged to travel to Greenland at the invitation of a church group there who have been seeking for more teaching and a deeper experience in the Lord. There are no roads between towns in Greenland, so it took many hours of travel by plane and helicopter to reach the village where this church group lives. A warm welcome was given by people who were eager to get acquainted and discuss the Word. Several days of meeting people and sharing the Word culminated in a weekend with six hours of teaching in their Bible school and two services. We are happy to report that six people were filled with the Holy Ghost! People were extremely eager to learn and grow in the Lord. Bible study materials were left with this group who gave an invitation to keep connected and make another trip this year. Truly this is an open door!—Robert and Jerolyn Photo (right) An estimated 5,000 people were filled with the Holy Spirit during an outdoor crusade service attended by 35,000 in Marikina Sports Stadium in Manila, Philippines. This crusade was the final service of the Philippine General Conference held February 17-21, 2016. Philippine Superintendent Bodegas and Global Missions Regional Director Roger Buckland preached before twenty-two ministers were ordained from around the country. Pastor Anthony Mangun of Alexandria, Louisiana, and his team ministered throughout the conference. “Bible quizzing has touched my life in many ways. I have grown spiritually and mentally since joining the quiz team; it has taught me to push, and to be dedicated. I am thankful for those who support the quiz teams and invest their time into all of us, quizzers. Memorizing God's Word has been fun this year. Many good memories have been made at practices and quiz tournaments. Bible quizzing has blessed my walk with God, and I'm eager to continue growing.” -Joanna Pastrana June Schedule Friday, 3rd: Ice Skating, $10 each plus food money Friday, 10th: No Event (Youth Camp) Tuesday, 14th: Student Prayer & Fasting Friday, 17th: Student Night –6:30 pm “Quizzing has made a big impact on my life. Being able to just be with a lot of the youth and spend time together studying the Word of God is one of the absolute best things. Yes, quizzers have to put in many long hours to get the results they want, but it’s definitely all worth it. A favorite of mine this year would be Romans 12:21, “Be not overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good.” I feel it’s a good reminder for the young people of this time, especially me. I’d also like to give a special thank you to Bro. and Sis. Smith for their hard work and dedication in making sure we’re the best we can be. I love you guys!” -Whitney Barrett Friday, 24th: Student Night –6:30 pm “My experiences in Bible quizzing has been an interesting one. It has definitely helped me to take time to understand God’s Word. I’d have to say, without it, I probably wouldn’t have gotten closer to God. I’m not the best quizzer ever, but I’ve learned that it’s not just memorizing the verses, but also taking time to read and understand the Word; that’s my favorite part. With that better understanding, a lot of my questions have been answered. Anyone old enough should do Bible Quizzing! It’s well worth the experience! I also want to thank the Smiths for the time and effort they have given, not only to me, but to anyone who has quizzed under their coaching!” -Ellie Woodruff See last page for June Events “As a husband and wife are each drawn to the Lord, as they learn to serve and cherish one another, as they share life experiences and grow together and become one, and as they are blessed through the uniting of their distinctive natures, they begin to realize the fulfillment that our heavenly Father desires for His children. Ultimate happiness, which is the very object of the father’s plan, is received through the making and honoring of eternal marriage covenants.” -David A.
