MHS Band Recognition
The Montrose High School Band was recognized at the School
Board meeting on Tuesday night for their outstanding
performances at the Regional and State Marching Competition
and Jazz Band Competition. The MHS Band Booster Club
presented the band a plaque made by booster member Paul
Arbogast.

Over the past six months, MCSD has reduced its
energy use district-wide by 8%! Keep up the great

Host Family Needed
For
Teacher Exchange Program
Since 2002, families in Colorado have been hosting
teachers from México through the Binational
Migrant Program. These teachers have come to
enrich our students and families who host them.
When hosting a Binational teacher, you will have

register for classes, receive notifications of upcoming
professional development opportunities, track the
number of training hours, print certificates and much
more! For instructions on how to access My Learning
Plan and to register for upcoming trainings CLICK HERE.
the opportunity to learn about their culture, folkloric
dances, and many other great talents that
they bring from various states in México.
In addition, you will also be able to share your
culture with the Binational teacher for them to take
back to Mexico. If you would like to know more
about Mexico’s culture or history sign up to be a
host family this coming summer.

2014 Retirement Reception
Mark your calendars, the 2014 MCSD Retirement
Reception will be held May 8th at the Holiday Inn
from 4-6 pm.
If you will be retiring from the District and meet a
total of 60 (Minimum 10 years of Services + Age)
and have had your retirement Board approved
through April, you will be eligible for recognition
at the reception.

ENERGY STAR OF THE
QUARTER!
Congratulations to Vivian Gore at Centennial
Middle School, this quarter’s Energy Star!
Each quarter, the PowerEd Team will be
celebrating a member of the Property Services team for their
dedication to saving energy in MCSD. “Vivian is very conscientious
about energy savings and is willing to work with everybody to meet
their needs,” said Jason Arebalos, Director of Property Services.
“Vivian understands the importance of saving energy and is a
great leader.” Vivian will receive a Visa gift card as a thank you for
her hard work. Congrats Vivian!

should show individuals engaging in an
environmental/conservation activity while wearing
green. The most creative photo from MCSD will
win a special gift bag!
