HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK March 6, 2014 UPCOMING EVENTS School Board Meeting ESB Board Room March 11th—6:30 pm Teacher of the Year Breakfast Holiday Inn Express March 25th 6:45 am-7:45 am Spring Break March 31st—April 4th District Art Show Region 10 April 21st—May 3rd (Picture Above L:R: Superintendent Mark MacHale and Above & Beyond Recipient Carol English) Above & Beyond On Wednesday, the Early Childhood Center Staff recognized and celebrated Carol English for being selected as the January 2014 Above & Beyond Recipient. Carol has worked for the District for over sixteen years. She currently is the custodian for Early Childhood Centers and Pomona Elementary. Carol was nominated by Gale Armendariz. According to Gale, “Carol is a troubleshooter and can be creative when a problem arises”. Regardless of the task Carol goes Above & Beyond to get the job completed. Congratulations Carol! Retirement Reception Holiday Inn May 8th—4:00 pm -6:00 pm 2014 Retirement Reception Mark your calendars, the 2014 MCSD Retirement Reception will be held May 8th at the Holiday Inn from 4-6 pm. If you will be retiring from the District and meet a total of 60 (Minimum 10 years of Services + Age) and have had your retirement Board approved through April, you will be eligible for recognition at the reception. The My Learning Plan Application will allow for you to register for classes, receive notifications of upcoming professional development opportunities, track the number of training hours, print certificates and much more!
