It is a photography project featuring costumers / cosplayers in and out of their costumes, taken with a traditional 4x5” film camera. These photos are part of a work in progress. Costumes of a diverse nature from Historical recreation, Science Fiction and Fantasy, Media and Anime, etc. are enthusiastically created and worn by people of all genders, races and ages, usually at events where fellow costuming enthusiasts gather. Who are the people behind the costumes? This project aims to shed some light on that question. I have met couples who got to know each other through costuming, sisters whose bond grew stronger from entering competitions together, a person who came to better understand her Aspergers condition from cosplaying a game character, and a disabled mother who cried tears of joy when her son won several masquerade awards for the most amazing, movable, articulated wing work I have seen. These are the costumers.... For more information or to participate in the project, please contact richard@richardmanphoto.com On Facebook, search for richardmanphoto
