Five-time world champion
Five-time world champion Row family bought Apache Blue Boy. Apache Blue Boy became the first-ever equine ranching-bred World Champion in 2003. He won his World Champion title in the Amateur Heeling event, ridden by amateur exhibitor Mike Row, and is owned by Mike’s father, John Row of Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Apache Blue Boy won his fifth world title in 2010, while not at his best. His exhibitor is quoted as saying “I’m just grateful he made it there, because he almost died on us about two weeks before the show. He got an infection in his colon and was at the vet’s for four days, so we didn’t get to practice on him, but one day before the preliminaries. That just shows how great he really is!” Apache Blue Boy’s five World Champion titles come to him as two Amateur Heading and three Amateur Heeling and only scratch the surface of his multiple top-10 finishes at the World Show and year-end top-10 finishes in heading and heeling. Apache Blue Boy has earned more than $76,000. Row thinks he might retire Apache Blue Boy from the show ring and has been reported to turn down a $100,000 offer for this great stallion. When Apache Blue Boy isn’t competing, he performs ranch work such as tending cattle and breeding mares on the R & S Cattle Ranch owned by the Row’s. Frick is very proud of this Blue Boy Doc stallion and still hears from the previous owner of Blue Boy Doc who comes and buys a horse now and then from Frick. 2006 FORD FREESTAR SPORT 7 PASSENGER VAN 4.2 V/6, A/O/D, REMOTE START, HEATED SIGNAL MIRRORS, BACK UP SENSORS, DUAL ELECT. Apache Blue Boy, a 1995 grey son of Blue Boy Doc, who has recently earned his fifth World Championship honours at the annual American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) World Championship Show held Nov. 620, 2010, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Frick sold Apache Blue Boy’s mother, Apache King Miss who was in foal, to Doug Wilkinson. Wilkinson called Frick one day asking him if he wanted to buy the colt because the mare had died. Frick bought the orphaned colt back for $1,000. Later he happened to be hauling some horses for Glen Fafard down to Ardmore, Oklahoma to a Foundation Quarter Horse Sale and decided to take Apache Blue Boy down to the sale.
