My second quarter at Credit Union
House has been full of highlights:
We held almost 30 events; there
were many opportunities to share
Credit Union House information;
and two states reached their
annual fundraising goals for the
first time. Congratulations to
Virginia and Colorado on those
efforts! Okay, and I guess I can’t
help myself...even though it was
technically the beginning of July
and therefore the 3rd quarter, I also
have to congratulate Montana and
Vermont for being the fourth and
fifth states to reach their goals this
year. Along with Alaska, Delaware,
Georgia, Hawaii, Maine, and
Wyoming who reached their annual
goals in 2005, and Washington,
who has already reached its annual
goal twice: once in 2005 and once
in 2006, these states are leading
the way in sustained annual giving.

In other highlights, I was honored
to attend league annual meetings
in South Carolina, Virginia, and
Maryland. I celebrated the opening
of the DC office of the Maryland
& DC Credit Union Association.
At Future Forum in Orlando,
I
chatted
with
hundreds of people
about Credit Union
House. Among them
was Carroll Beach,
the first Chairman
of the Credit Union
House, LLC Board of
Directors.

June,

my
former

Credit Union House hosted 29
events during the second quarter.
These events included political
fundraisers, credit union and league
receptions,
and
informational
sessions.
Credit Union House staff worked
with CUNA’s political affairs staff to
host two informational luncheons for
political fundraisers. These lunches
Credit Union House also had the
honor of hosting the Virginia Credit
Union League’s appreciation
dinner for credit unions involved with
the league’s political affairs efforts,
including reaching their annual
Credit Union House fundraising goal
for the first time in 2006. During
the appreciation dinner, VACUL
President Rick Pillow announced
the league’s endorsement of
Senator George Allen, who
appeared to be overwhelmed
with the endorsement and the
approximately 3 million credit union
members it represented.
In June, Credit Union House
welcomed the Ukrainian National
CU Association for a reception that
included a live showing of Ukraine’s
soccer team winning a semi-final
game in overtime.
